What is Worth Choosing
While the fresh Branzino and tender Grilled Octopus are undisputed crowd-pleasers, Greek Islands offers a vast menu with many other must-try items that demonstrate the restaurant's quality and authenticity.
For appetizers, venturing beyond the octopus is highly recommended. The Homemade Spanakopita—a flaky, savory spinach pie—is a perennial favorite. For something unique and unforgettable, the Honey Cheese Pie Triangles (flash fried filo stuffed with feta and drizzled with honey) are an absolute must-order dessert or sweet/savory appetizer that consistently garners five-star feedback. The Tzatziki and the rich Tirokafteri (spicy feta spread) are also perfect starters, especially when ordered as part of the Ios Trio to sample a variety of dips.
From the main dishes, the traditional baked specialties are a highlight. The Moussaka and Pastitsio are celebrated for their authentic preparation, rich meat sauces, and velvety béchamel tops. For meat lovers, the Lamb Souvlaki—marinated chunks of charcoaled lamb served with grilled vegetables—is a popular choice from the Souvlaki section. The Gyro, offered as both a pita sandwich and a platter, is another top-ordered item, featuring perfectly sliced beef and lamb.
Seafood enthusiasts looking for an alternative to Branzino should explore the Garides (super jumbo grilled shrimp) or the Xifias (North Atlantic swordfish steak, charcoaled grilled). Furthermore, the extensive Ladera section is perfect for vegetarians, featuring home-cooked specialties like Gigantes (Greek lima beans) and Imam (baked baby eggplant stuffed with tomatoes and herbs).
In short, whether you choose a signature seafood dish, a traditional Greek kitchen specialty, or one of their exceptional appetizers, Greek Islands promises an authentic and passionately prepared meal that has earned its place as one of Little Neck's finest dining destinations for New York locals.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I have been coming here for years. Always a great time with authentic homemade delicious Greek food. It’s a welcoming family atmosphere. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The restaurant is always very clean. You can’t go wrong with anything you order from the menu. A few standouts are the octopus, the spreads sampler, and the Honey Cheese Pie Triangles. They only use the best quality ingredients which is reflected in the superior taste. Always a 5 star experience.
April 18 · Andrew IzzoWow!!!This restaurant has been here for 20 years and you can tell from the love and passion in how they serve and treat customers!Food was amazing!Perfect for a family dinner. The Branzino was fresh and well prepared. May 11 · Brian RobertsonThe service was really good, I loved how friendly they were and how they gave us complimentary brownies and bread with the meal. the food was also very unique, you won’t eat this authentic food anywhere else.
April 01 · Mavin ShavinOn behalf of The Center for the Women of New York, I want to extend a huge thank you to Greek Islands for their incredibly generous and delicious donation to our Taste of the World at Fort Totten gala. They provided mini spinach and feta pies as well as mini cheese pies that were an absolute delight. The flaky, buttery phyllo dough was perfectly crisp and each bite was filled with savory, flavorful fillings. The balance of spinach and feta was excellent, and the cheese pies were rich and satisfying. Our guests couldn't get enough of them!It is because of beloved local businesses like Greek Islands that we are able to successfully raise vital funds for our mission of supporting women in the New York community. Their commitment to giving back shows a true dedication to the neighborhood, and it is exactly why I make a point to support businesses that care.We highly recommend Greek Islands for their outstanding authentic Greek cuisine and their tremendous generosity. Thank you for your kindness and for making our event such a success.
September 11 · Yin LauI visited this restaurant off a whim with my mother & we had an incredible dining experience at this charming Greek restaurant, thanks in large part to the warm hospitality of the owner, George. He was incredibly personable and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in.The food was outstanding across the board — the branzino was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, served with a side of lemon potatoes that were to die for! The grilled octopus was tender and smoky, and the spinach pies were flaky and delicious. The calamari was another standout: light and crispy. George even recommended a pink sparkling wine that he mentioned is his wife’s favorite, BiancoNero and now it’s my new favorite, too!To top off the meal, George surprised us with a complimentary dessert named after him — a sweet gesture that perfectly capped off an already memorable evening. You can tell there’s a lot of heart in everything they do here. Can’t wait to come back!
