Located on West 48th Street, this restaurant offers a fresh take on traditional Indian flavors, specializing in a fast-casual format that doesn't compromise on quality or taste. It stands out in a crowded market by focusing on healthy options and high-quality ingredients, providing a welcome alternative to the heavier, more traditional fare often associated with Indian dining. INDAY has carved out a niche for itself by offering a menu built around customizable bowls, allowing diners to create a meal that perfectly suits their preferences and dietary needs. The concept is designed to cater to the discerning New York palate, valuing both speed and nutritional value. For locals and professionals in the area, INDAY is more than just a place to grab a bite; it's a spot that offers a flavorful, guilt-free escape during a busy workday. This overview will provide a detailed look at what makes this establishment a go-to for many New Yorkers seeking a delicious and convenient meal.
INDAY’s prime location on W 48th St, situated on the ground level, or Floor 1, at New York, NY 10020, places it at the epicenter of Midtown Manhattan's commercial and tourist hub. This address makes it exceptionally convenient and accessible for a wide range of patrons. It’s nestled among major corporate buildings, high-end retail stores, and iconic landmarks like Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall. For those working in the area, it serves as a perfect lunch spot, providing a quick and healthy option that is easily reachable on foot. Tourists exploring the sights can also find it to be a great, quick stop for a bite. The restaurant’s location is well-served by New York City’s extensive public transportation network. The 1, 2, 3, A, C, E, B, D, F, M, N, Q, R, and W trains all have stops within a short walking distance, making it easily accessible from nearly any part of the city. While there are no specific parking amenities mentioned, the general nature of Midtown parking means street parking is limited and often expensive, though numerous parking garages are available in the vicinity for those who choose to drive. The location is also very friendly for pedestrians, with easy access from major avenues. This central position is a key part of INDAY's appeal, making it a practical and efficient dining option in one of the world's most dynamic neighborhoods. The restaurant's accessibility, combined with its appeal to locals and those on the go, solidifies its place as a convenient and dependable choice for a meal in this part of New York.
INDAY provides a streamlined and efficient service model centered around a fast-casual dining experience. This approach is designed to cater to the needs of its Midtown clientele, who often require quick and convenient options. Their services offered include:
Solo Dining: The restaurant is noted as being popular for solo dining, a reflection of its quick-service model. The layout and atmosphere are welcoming for individuals looking to grab a quick and satisfying meal on their own, making it an ideal choice for a solo lunch break or a simple dinner after work. The efficiency of the service means you can be in and out without a lengthy time commitment.
Takeout: As a fast-casual establishment, a core part of INDAY's service is its takeout option. Patrons can easily order their meals to go, which is a great service for those with limited time. This allows you to enjoy their food at your desk, a nearby park, or at home, providing a high level of flexibility and convenience. The menu is well-suited for takeout, with items like the bowls and sides traveling well.
Credit Card Payments: To facilitate a quick and seamless transaction, INDAY accepts credit card payments. This is a standard and essential service in a major metropolitan area like New York, catering to the majority of customers who prefer cashless options for speed and security.
Dogs Allowed Outside: While not a traditional service, the option to bring dogs to the outdoor seating area is a significant amenity for pet owners in the city. This makes INDAY a more welcoming and accommodating choice for those who are out for a walk with their pet and want to stop for a meal. It adds a layer of convenience for a specific segment of the local population.
These services are tailored to create a smooth and efficient experience, prioritizing convenience and catering to the typical habits of New York’s working and local population. The focus is on providing a high-quality meal with minimal fuss, which is a major part of the restaurant’s appeal.
INDAY stands out with a number of features and highlights that define its unique identity in the New York dining scene. The restaurant's offerings and atmosphere set it apart from traditional Indian restaurants and other fast-casual spots. Key highlights include:
Healthy and Quick Options: The menu is specifically highlighted for its healthy options and quick bite format. This focus on well-being and speed is a significant draw for health-conscious individuals and those with limited time. The dishes, such as the Tamarind Glazed Salmon Bowl and various side vegetable options, are built with fresh, wholesome ingredients. This approach contrasts with the often-heavy, creamy curries found elsewhere, appealing to a different kind of diner.
Signature Bowls and Customization: The core of the menu is its selection of signature bowls, which include popular options like the Chicken Tikka Masala Bowl and the Charred Chili Chicken Bowl. A major feature is the "Build Your Own Bowl" option, which gives customers complete control over their meal. This level of customization is a significant highlight, allowing diners to choose their base, protein, vegetables, and sauces to create a personalized dish that fits their tastes and dietary needs perfectly. This is particularly valuable for people with allergies or specific food preferences.
Atmosphere: Described as "casual," the atmosphere at INDAY is more relaxed and inviting than a typical formal restaurant, yet also more refined than a standard fast-food joint. The spacious, clean, and beautiful space is often noted by customers, making the dine-in experience pleasant and a step above the usual grab-and-go establishments. This makes it a great spot for a relaxed meal where you can sit and enjoy your food without feeling rushed.
Menu Variety: The menu is robust, featuring not only the popular bowls but also a range of other items. From classic snacks like Samosas and Naan to a wide array of side dishes like Saag Paneer and Sweet Potatoes, there are plenty of choices. The drink menu is also a highlight, with unique offerings such as INDAY Chai, Turmeric Lemonade, and Mango Lassi, providing a taste of authentic Indian beverages. The availability of numerous sauces and condiments further enhances the ability to customize and enhance a meal.
These features underscore INDAY’s commitment to providing a modern, flexible, and high-quality dining experience. The emphasis on healthy, fresh ingredients and a welcoming, casual atmosphere makes it a compelling choice for many New Yorkers.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1You know, there are quite a few places around that are pretty similar, so I wasn't expecting anything too different. However, this spot did have a few things that stood out. For starters, I appreciated that they offered three gluten-free options. But what really made this place a bit different for me was the noticeable freshness of the ingredients. The food had a lighter quality to it, which was actually quite enjoyable. Sometimes you just don't want all the richness of heavy sauces or intense seasonings. I tried the grilled salmon, and it was genuinely tasty. The atmosphere also felt more like a proper restaurant, which was a nice change from the usual fast-food feel. It's definitely worth giving it a shot.
May 13 · Taye ImIt’s a hidden gem in manhattan next to 5th avenue. I ordered chicken Tikka Masala Bowl and Mango Lassi. Absolutely delicious!! What’s more the space is so spacious, clean and beautiful. Not like those self-service place at all. I highly recommend it!
September 07 · Ruby ChenFresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor—Inday’s Indian bowls are an absolute win. The ingredients feel wholesome yet exciting, and the flavors are balanced perfectly without being too heavy. Bonus points for being just a short walk from Rockefeller Center, making it a perfect quick yet satisfying stop in Midtown.
August 11 · Valentine CorreiaPlace is airy and spacious, good tea and food pairing. Clean washrooms. This place is consistent. Most of the people complaining about the chai here I notice are indians. Primarily coz marketing promises a true Kolkata chai experience which is a live chai making experience and not a premix. The chai otherwise is quite decent and drinkable. I loved the saffron tea.
June 02 · George KoshyHey, you guys changed everything! It's not the same chicken tikka masala bowl you guys used to serve! Today, after 1 month ig, i ordered chicken tikka masala and added sub protien, but then it has no chicken in it! Just rice salad and my sub protien paneer! Only 3 things! And the quantity is not enough also! Now it feels you guys are shrinking your bowl filling. So basically, if i want to have chicken tikka masala($14), i have to add chiken from extra add ons section ($4), so actual chicken tikka gonna be 18+tax. I felt like I've been scammed today. No matter the quality and taste are amazing, but still. I'm super hungry and angry!
