IZAKAYA SEASUN Introduce
In a city as culturally rich and diverse as New York, finding an authentic dining experience that transports you to another place is a true delight. IZAKAYA SEASUN, located in the heart of Midtown, offers just that. As an Izakaya restaurant, it embraces a style of dining that is a cornerstone of Japanese social life, combining the casual, lively atmosphere of a pub with a menu of delicious small plates designed for sharing. This creates an environment that is both energetic and intimate, perfect for a night out with friends or a unique solo dining adventure.
The concept of Izakaya dining, much like Spanish tapas or an Irish pub, is about more than just food; it's about the experience. IZAKAYA SEASUN brings this philosophy to life, providing a cozy and comfortable aesthetic with lively vibes. Based on customer reviews, the atmosphere is a significant part of the draw, with one guest describing it as a "portal into Japan" with its unique decor and funky Japanese tunes.
The menu is designed for sharing and exploration, with a variety of unique dishes that defy the typical expectations of a Japanese restaurant. From classic sashimi and tempura to more inventive offerings like Fluffy Egg Takoyaki and Spicy Cream Crab Pasta, the kitchen at IZAKAYA SEASUN is focused on delivering unique flavors that "exceed expectations." This article will dive into the specific details of this must-visit spot, providing you with everything you need to know about its location, services, and what makes it a standout choice for your next dining outing.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1To start off, the overall aesthetics of the restaurant was cozy and comfortable, supporting the lively vibes within. Secondly, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Everyone was genuinely happy to help you. Lastly, the food was delicious! Every item on the menu was unique in its own way. I ordered around 9 dishes and every single one of them exceeded my expectations. This place is one of those must-visit restaurants when you come to New York. I will definitely be visiting again!
August 02 · Y.ByeonThe restaurant had a warm, cozy vibe with plenty of large seating areas. The service was super friendly, making the whole experience even more enjoyable💕The beef sukiyaki was incredibly tender and soft, with a comforting, flavorful broth🍲🍣The wagyu beef tartare and sashimi tasted so fresh and delicate, while the shrimp cheese fondue was rich, cheesy, creamy, and had just the right hint of spice🦐The rose chicken pasta stood out with its creamy sauce and mix of crunchy and chewy textures🍝The fried chicken wings were perfectly seasoned—crispy on the outside and juicy inside🍗To end the meal, the snowflake mango bingsu was the ultimate treat: sweet, refreshing, and paired beautifully with the chewy mochi 🍨
September 11 · Elisha LiangThe vintage ambience makes it a great place to meet up with friends for a few drinks and some good food.Their highballs were a great way to mellow out the evening, especially the Earl Grey highball. Also enjoyed their beef tartare and sukiyaki dishes. It's not a sushi place, but their sashimi were great too.Disclaimer. I attended a preview opening so things are still getting finalized so I didn't rate the service yet.Update: Came back for follow up visit after they fully opened. The service has definitely matured. They are working on the wait times and reservation as well.
April 19 · Edward Kim (Myung)This place was so cute! Felt like a portal into Japan, loved the decor inside especially the little pond and giant lamp up front. Even the little mascots on their logos and cups and all were so fun. They played funky Japanese tunes the whole time it was so serene. It wasnt too loud so it was easy to chat with people. For drinks we had some soju which is good as usualy, and also a highball. I got the hibiscus one and it was tasty. Didn’t really feel anything from it but had a nice flavor! For food we had the chipotle fries which were greattttt. Loved those a lot, hella crispy! Also the skewer set which was okay. The pork was good and also the tomatoes wrapped in bacon I think, those were nice. The mushrooms were fine and it also had chicken hearts which I did not expect LOL I mean I went for it and tried one, it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be.I definitely want to come back and try some other food items, I know there are probably some hidden gems on the menu waiting for me
March 26 · Patrick ZajacWent for dinner with coworkers. We had a reservation at 5pm for 5 people. When we got there, there were a few people waiting. They checked our IDs before we sat down. One of my coworkers couldn’t find their wallet so they said we can’t order shareable drinks and can only order individual drinks like highballs. Once seated, my coworker found his wallet and showed them his NY ID (he doesn’t have a DL) and they said they can’t accept it and instead was able to accept his employment ID card which was odd. That whole experience threw us off. We ended up ordering few dishes and sharing it. Our favorite was the fried chicken wings and spicy beef tendon with glass noodles. The design of the restaurant was like an old school Korean pub which was nice, but overall, the food was good but the service, in terms of the whole ID ordeal could’ve been handled better. Otherwise, they’re very quick to bring out the drinks.
