John's Pizzeria of Times Square is perfectly situated at 260 West 44th Street, placing it at the heart of the world-famous Theater District. This location makes it an incredibly convenient and popular choice for theater-goers, tourists, and locals alike. It's just a short walk from Broadway's most iconic theaters and the dazzling lights of Times Square, making it an ideal pre-show or post-show dining destination. The restaurant is easily accessible by New York's extensive public transportation system. It's within a very short walking distance of the Times Square–42nd Street subway station, which is a major hub serving the 1, 2, 3, N, Q, R, W, and S lines, as well as the 42nd Street–Port Authority Bus Terminal station (A, C, E trains). This unparalleled accessibility ensures that no matter where you are in the city, getting to John's is straightforward.
The building itself is a former Gospel Tabernacle Church, and this unique history is a huge part of the restaurant's charm. The intact church ceiling, stained-glass windows, and beautiful chandeliers create an atmosphere that is both grand and intimate, offering a sense of history that is rarely found in a modern restaurant. The space is large, with a main dining area and a second-level seating space, allowing it to accommodate a large volume of customers. However, as it is a highly popular spot, it is often crowded, especially during peak dining hours. It is important to note that while the restaurant is large, there is often a wait, which is a testament to its popularity.

### What is worth choosing
At John's Pizzeria of Times Square, the pizza is the star, and it's what you should choose above all else. The menu offers a variety of specialty pizzas, but the best way to experience the true essence of John's is to start with a Traditional or Margherita pizza. These classic pies allow the quality of the ingredients and the unique flavor from the coal-fired oven to shine through. The crispy, thin crust is a signature feature that makes it a must-try. For those looking for something a bit different, the Buffalo Chicken Pizza is a popular choice that combines the classic pizza form with a spicy, flavorful topping. The Hawaiian pizza is also available for those who enjoy that sweet and savory combination.
In addition to the pizza, the appetizers are worth exploring. The Fried Calamari is often praised for being perfectly crispy and a great way to start your meal. The Garlic Rolls are also a popular choice, providing a warm and savory side that pairs well with the pizza. For a lighter start, the salads are fresh and flavorful; the Caesar Salad or House Salad are excellent options. From the drinks menu, you have a wide range of choices, from a simple soda to a well-selected glass of wine or a signature cocktail. The beer selection is also highly regarded.
Overall, John's Pizzeria is a destination for an iconic meal. While the wait can be a bit long, the experience—from the historic atmosphere to the authentic coal-fired pizza—is absolutely worth it. The true value lies in the classic, whole-pie pizza and the unique dining experience that you simply can't find anywhere else in the city.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I found out about this restaurant in New York while planning my 5 days of New York vacation in Los Angeles. I decided to stop by at least once to have a good meal and find out if what was described and reviewed by others to be true.Warni g: The restaurant is crowded, pretty much at all times. But, after a typical 30-minute wait, I was escorted to a second level seating space. [I insisted to be seated upstairs for a bit more privacy]1. True: it is a converted church. The old church ceiling, the colorful windows, and the chandeliers are intact. Beautiful. Probably, there's only one of a kind on Earth.2. True: the food tasted delicious. Salad was fresh, the fried calamari was crispy, and the pizza was crispy and... great!!!.3. True: The service was good4. True: the restaurant is crowded and noisy....I didn't mind.If you are visiting New York, I recommend this place.
July 26 · Berge WassilianVisited today at 5.30pm, and it was half empty. No queue, no issues, quick service. All was great! We were seated right in the middle, which was great, and had a brilliant view of everything going on.Ordered 2 large pizza for 3 of us and took lots home as they were huge! The food was quick and piping hot.No free refills on drinks, which is a shame, but we were given water upon arrival.Bill is slightly cheaper if you pay cash, around 5 bucks.Service was friendly and swift. Hit the spot after a busy day sightseeing with the family.Pizzas are around 34 dollars for a large, which is 8 slices.Highly recommend!
July 27 · Mrs FosterHad explored it in internet before going to NYC, and it was worth to visit, fantastic eatery serving exclusive thin-crust pizza in Times Square. The atmosphere in this old church building with views of pizza ovens is amazing & the pizza was the best, very flavorful and perfect crust! Not only did we get to watch all our food get made, the toppings were heavy, sauce just right, and crust was slight crisp without falling over. Loved everything and will definitely be back. my favorite-must-stop pizzerias in NYC!! John’s Pizzeria of Times Square is a must-visit for pizza lovers.
June 28 · Bhushan TimlaWhen we first arrived to the hotel, we asked one of the staff where to get the best pizza. He told us to go to John’s. We had no choice but to take his suggestion.Omgosh! As you can see I could barely get my phone out fast enough. The pizza was SO GOOD! The mozzarella was great, too!We loved it so much that we went back the next night.
May 31 · Dee MWe went to John’s after getting in late from a delayed flight. We got right in and had drinks and food within 20 minutes. The servers were kind of quick but friendly. I enjoyed the pizza ovens being within view. Salad was good, pizza was delicious and the building is beautiful. I liked that it was busy but we didn’t feel rushed. The inside is warm and stuffy, so just be prepared for that.
