## What is Worth Choosing
For the New Jersey traveler seeking an exceptional airport meal, Kaedama is a highly worthwhile choice, primarily because it manages to deliver authentic and flavorful Japanese cuisine within the demanding constraints of a major terminal. While airport dining often carries a premium (customers note prices are generally about 20% higher than average, which is standard for EWR), the quality of the food often justifies the cost.
The strongest reason to choose Kaedama is the quality of its specialties. The sushi rolls, often a risky airport choice, are praised for being "very, very good" and of a higher standard than expected, with clear indications of care in preparation, such as the smoky flavor of the shrimp on the crunchy shrimp rolls. For those seeking warmth and comfort, the ramen, including a vegetarian miso ramen, is noted as "quite good for airport standards" and a satisfying pre-flight meal.
Furthermore, the focus on Fast service makes this restaurant an ideal option for anyone in a time crunch. Whether you have 45 minutes or just a moment for a Quick bite, the efficiency here is a key benefit. The option to enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail with your meal also provides a welcome way to decompress before or after a long flight. In short, Kaedama offers a delicious, distinct, and time-saving Japanese dining experience right in the heart of Newark’s Terminal C, making it a standout option for the discerning traveler.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1After reading the reviews and asking a few patrons, I skipped the ramen for some special sushi rolls. The rainbow roll and the crunchy shrimp rolls were very, very good compared to standard expected airport sushi quality. You can taste the smokiness of the shrimp on that roll (likely torched, suggests it was handled with care rather than repackaged ready made sushi rolls).Prices are generally 20% more expensive than your average sushi joint.
July 19 · Chris Lquite good vegetarian miso ramen for airport standards. I did pay extra for mushrooms, which they forgot to add, but honestly, I’m not going to argue over a few cents. Overall, it was a satisfying meal before a flight.
July 12 · KorneliaThe food was super solid for airport food, but what really made this place special was Lou, the man working behind the counter. He was so kind and warm to everybody he spoke with, and he had just such a strong positive energy about him. I sat there for hours doing work, and it was honestly just a pleasure to watch Lou being a little bit more light into this world.I will say, good and drinks were definitely on the pricey side, but it’s to be expected with airport restaurants I guess.
September 21 · Jake DavisRamen is not good. Fishy smelling. Took 30 mins to get a glass of water and it came back with debris floating in it. Overheard staff saying to another thru failed inspection yesterday.
May 30 · Jeff WahligSadly it was the worse ramen I’ve had. Three noodles all clumped together and were gummy, and the broth was lukewarm. Sushi and poke were just ok. The servers were very very nice and helpful though. Remade my order with no fuss.
