Kyma Introduce
Nestled in the heart of New York's Flatiron District, Kyma offers more than just a meal; it provides a transportive experience to the sun-drenched islands of Greece. With its modern ambiance and traditional culinary roots, this Greek restaurant at 15 W 18th Street is a destination for those seeking a lively atmosphere, exquisite food, and a touch of Mediterranean charm. While a restaurant's true character is often best judged by the dining experience, reviews consistently highlight its beautiful decor and high-quality food, particularly the desserts and seafood. The concept of Kyma is to blend the vibrant feel of a traditional Greek taverna with the stylish, chic aesthetic of Mykonos. This is a place where every detail, from the decor to the dishes, is crafted to provide an immersive and unforgettable experience. The menu, with its fresh fish flown in daily from the Mediterranean and the use of high-quality extra virgin olive oil from the Peloponnese, is a testament to the restaurant's commitment to authenticity and quality. It’s an ideal spot for a romantic dinner, a celebratory event, or a fun night out with a group, as the atmosphere is designed to be both upscale and welcoming. This focus on a premium dining experience and a vibrant social scene is what makes Kyma a standout in New York's highly competitive restaurant scene.
The food and drink menu at Kyma is a journey in itself, offering a wide array of authentic Greek flavors with a modern twist. From the raw bar with its "On Ice" seafood tower and crudo selections, to classic appetizers like "Kyma Chips" (crispy zucchini and eggplant) and "Saganaki," the options are abundant and enticing. For the main course, patrons can indulge in a variety of expertly prepared whole fish, such as Lavraki and Fagri, or classic Greek entrées like Lamb Chops and Filet Mignon Souvlaki. The menu is also inclusive, offering vegetarian and vegan options, ensuring there is something for everyone. A key highlight is the dessert menu, with a review praising the cheesecake with berry compote as "incredible." This is a strong indicator that the culinary excellence extends to all courses of the meal. The bar at Kyma is also a significant part of the experience, with an extensive wine list and "great cocktails," which are often the subject of praise. This is not a place for a quiet, intimate dinner on certain nights, as it is well-known for its lively atmosphere. The presence of a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights starting at 8 PM transforms the space, making it a "dinner party" and a hotspot for a more energetic evening, a unique feature that sets it apart from many other fine dining establishments in the area. This dynamic blend of sophisticated food and a high-energy social scene is what makes Kyma a truly unique dining destination in New York.

Choosing Kyma is a decision to embrace a lively, upscale, and delicious dining experience. The primary reason to choose this restaurant is the quality of its food, especially the fresh fish and seafood. While a review mentioned a lackluster tuna tartare and octopus, the menu and other reviews highlight the excellence of dishes like the Lavraki, Spanakopita, and Lobster Pasta. A second major draw is the atmosphere. The combination of an upscale, beautiful decor with the energetic live music on weekends makes it a unique and fun destination for a night out. It is a place where you can enjoy a fantastic meal and then stay for the lively social scene. This duality sets it apart from more traditional, quiet fine dining establishments. Additionally, the well-curated beverage program with great cocktails and an excellent wine list ensures that the drink selection is as impressive as the food. The commitment to a welcoming and inclusive environment, along with amenities like private dining rooms and high chairs, means it can accommodate a wide variety of guests and occasions. In short, Kyma is worth choosing for its authentic and high-quality Greek cuisine, its stylish and vibrant atmosphere, and its unique ability to combine a sophisticated meal with a festive, celebratory vibe, making it a memorable and must-visit spot in New York.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Kind staff and amazing food. The decor begs for you to take your pics! The food was delicious. Dessert! Don't skip it! The cheesecake with the berry compote was incredible! They do have a DJ come in around 8pm on the weekends. It can get a little loud with the increased volume in music. Just something to be mindful of. I highly recommend to book a reservation.
July 13 · LaToya HoltUnfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of either dish I ordered. The tuna tartare lacked flavor, and the octopus tasted like it had been sitting for a while. That said, I did thoroughly enjoy the Greek wine, and the atmosphere was pleasant. It seemed like most of the guests were tourists, like myself, rather than locals. The service was okay, but nothing remarkable. The server could’ve shown a bit more personality. One nice touch was the manager stopping by each table, which added a welcoming element.
August 27 · Vickie ChenThis place is insane! The vibes and the music is poppin. The food is so good. Everything tasted so fresh. The bar had great drinks and very kind bartenders.I had to give this a 3/√-star for atmosphere because there are 2 floors with djs. When we went, we had a large bday party so they sat us downstairs where every other large table had a birthday party as well. The classy family style dinner quickly turns into a rave during your meal and it can be jarring for some. You can't hear anything except for the music and so many folks were standing on their chairs waving their dinner napkins in the air. If you love a noisy and lively dinner, this is perfect for you!J
September 14 · Casey Blake6/26/25 - Would we come back? Absolutely this is actually our 2nd time coming here.Food - For entree we got the Prime Rib Eye (from the land). We substituted the roasted baby potatoes for mashed potatoes for the sides we got Greek fries and Brussels and Cheesecake for dessert. 10/10 for everything! We enjoy all the flavors and love how the steak itself tasted, the gravy?! We need that recipe lol, and the oven roasted garlic? Delicious, kind of has a sweetness to it that we enjoyed.Service - Service was magnificent!! We would love to shout out our busser David, he was sweet and made sure our table was clear of anything we were done with, our waitress Anna for her radiant energy and her sharing a Greek tradition of theirs! And to the manager Kostas, we love the restaurant and that fact that you took the time to make sure everything was to our liking! We also would love to thank the cooking staff! Food never disappoints!Atmosphere - Beautiful restaurant, it’s elegant, sophisticated, and intimate, we love the soft lighting that almost represents a candle, love the bamboo sticks ceilings and the marble bar and tables! The bathroom was also very beautiful and their hand soap smells really good!
July 01 · Adrien Cuello (Dre)Recently celebrated my birthday for the second year in a row with kyma and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent but the service and atmosphere was even more memorable. The party vibe was just want my friends and i were hoping for. Our server, Andreas, went above and beyond to make sure my birthday was memorable. His level of service and attention to detail was outstanding. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a truly special experience for their birthday or in general. We will be back for sure !
