Oiji Mi Introduce
New York City's culinary landscape is constantly evolving, and a new era of Korean fine dining is beautifully exemplified by Oiji Mi. This is not your typical Korean barbecue spot or a casual diner; it is a sophisticated and upscale restaurant where a remarkable vision redefines traditional Korean cuisine. Situated in the Flatiron neighborhood, Oiji Mi offers an experience that has been described by patrons as an "unforgettable evening" and "one of the best dining experiences we've ever had in New York." It stands as a testament to the fact that Korean flavors, when treated with creativity and a modern touch, can create truly world-class meals.
The magic of Oiji Mi begins with its atmosphere. The restaurant is celebrated for being "beautifully designed," with a vibe that is both "sophisticated yet cozy." It's a place where a "round table felt intimate and romantic," and the open kitchen adds a "layer of magic" to the entire evening, allowing diners a front-row seat to the culinary artistry. This attention to detail extends from the interior to the plates themselves, with one reviewer noting the "absolutely stunning plating" that was unlike anything they had seen before in Korean cuisine. This fusion of a stunning setting and visually delightful food creates a multi-sensory experience that is perfect for a special occasion, from a romantic date night to a milestone birthday celebration.
The dining experience is centered around a prix-fixe menu, a deliberate choice that allows Chef Brian Kim's culinary vision to unfold through a series of refined and artfully crafted courses. The food is consistently praised for being "refined, flavorful, and full of personality," offering "elevated takes on traditional Korean flavors." Beyond the food, the service is equally exceptional. The staff is described as "warm, super professional, attentive, and so thoughtful," going above and beyond to make the night feel personal, even surprising a customer with a beautifully presented birthday dessert. This combination of culinary excellence, sophisticated ambiance, and impeccable service makes Oiji Mi a leading destination for a memorable and luxurious dining experience in New York City.

The Shaved Ice received a perfect score for its pairing of "tapioca" and "brown sugar," and the Doughnut, a mochi doughnut with ice cream, was described with a resounding "Loved, loved, loved!" This makes the dessert course a definite highlight of the meal. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My husband surprised me with a birthday dinner at Oiji Mi, and while I knew we were going somewhere special, I didn’t realize just how special it would turn out to be.He had reserved a table facing the open kitchen — essentially a chef’s table — and it was such an unexpected treat. The setting was beautifully designed: the round table felt intimate and romantic, giving us a perfect view of the chefs at work, adding a layer of magic to the whole evening.Every dish was a visual delight — absolutely stunning plating that I’ve never seen before in Korean cuisine. Each course was refined, flavorful, and full of personality. From seafood to meat to elevated takes on traditional Korean flavors, we were blown away by the creativity and depth of the menu. The cocktail is exceptional !The staff were warm, super professional, attentive, and so thoughtful, absolutely top service! They even surprised me with a beautifully presented birthday dessert, which made the night feel extra personal.Chef Brian Kim’s vision is remarkable — elegant, modern, yet deeply rooted in Korean tradition. The location is great, the vibe is sophisticated yet cozy, and we just found out there’s another concept by the chef right inside the same space. We’re already planning to return and explore more of his brilliant work.A truly unforgettable evening — one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had in New York!
June 23 · ZoeOverall 4.25/5Food 4/5Service 5/5Ambiance 5/5Value 4/5We celebrated my hubby's birthday here and the side dishes felt more memorable than the main course! Our fave part of the entire meal was actually the desserts. For a $150 pre-fixe 5-course meal, it felt like decent value, but when considering both taste and overall value, I still lean towards JUA.Scallop 4.75/5: Cooked to perfection with beautifully balanced flavors.Trout 4.25/5: Very refreshing and delicious.Lobster Ramen 4.5/5: A delightful cold ramen with chili sesame oil, and the lobster was nice and meaty.Jook 4.5/5: The black cod paired really well with the jook; the flavors were just right.Dry Aged Duck 3.5/5: This was a bit disappointing, not as tender as I would have liked.Seabass 4/5: The clams were very meaty, but the sauce was a tad on the saltier side.Shaved Ice 5/5: The tapioca was a perfect match for the brown sugar shaved ice.Doughnut 5/5: Loved, loved, loved the mochi doughnut with the ice cream! Couldn't get enough of this!
June 22 · Cecilia LeeHad the pleasure of celebrating a birthday a Ouiji Mi I'm here to tell you that the experience was nothing short of Amazing. The staff was amazing and catered to the various needs of our table and terms of allergies and vegan needs. The drinks were on point and the bartender was very skilled. We had a five course meal and every single chorus was paired with an amazing wineIf you have a moment or a special occasion please do make a reservation as you will not be disappointed with the experience
September 11 · Shawn Shawn (Shawn)It was overall great!I picked the five course menu and every food was delicious. The service was also really nice, and the atmosphere overall was also amazing. Especially the Oiji bowl was my favorite. The rice itself was great but with everything else in it, it tasted really good. The dessert was also very nice. The Chapssal Donut was very tasty as well as the Black sugar bingsu.I would definitely come back again someday!
July 31 · Andy KangThe service was excellent and very attentive. We visited to celebrate our anniversary and wanted to enjoy a special Korean meal. The food was delicious, and the seasoning was just right. The first course was a great appetizer that really opened up our appetite, and overall, the seafood was very fresh, which we appreciated. In particular, the lobster and noodles were outstanding.During the meal, I found myself curious about the ingredients. It would have been helpful if the menu was printed on a small sheet of paper we could keep at the table for reference. For dessert, the bingsu was tasty, but it would have felt more authentically Korean if it had included red bean paste. Instead, it came with tapioca pearls(?), which was a bit disappointing. The donut and cheesecake also didn’t quite meet our expectations. All in all, it was a pleasant dining experience.
