La Nueva Union Bakery Introduce
Tucked away on Cortelyou Road in the charming Ditmas Park neighborhood, La Nueva Union Bakery is a local gem that serves up a taste of authentic baked goods. This Latino-owned bakery and pastry shop has become a go-to spot for residents seeking a quick sweet fix, a freshly brewed coffee, or a spectacular cake for a special occasion. The bakery’s reputation precedes it, with the scent of fresh baking often carrying down the block, drawing in both new and familiar faces. It's the kind of neighborhood institution that feels both warm and inviting, a perfect place to indulge in a treat.
The bakery's signature tres leches cake is a particular highlight, earning praise from customers who find it perfectly balanced. One reviewer noted that while they might have preferred more sweetness, their mother, who has diabetes, "loved it," calling it "perfect." This highlights the bakery's ability to cater to a range of palates, offering cakes that are rich in flavor without being overwhelmingly sweet.
However, it's worth noting that a key part of the customer experience, particularly with custom cakes, can be inconsistent. While the baked goods are often delightful, one customer shared a negative experience with a custom birthday cake order, citing issues with spelling, design, and service. This review serves as a cautionary tale for those ordering custom, personalized items and underscores the importance of clear communication and perhaps visiting in person to ensure expectations are met, especially for highly specific requests. Despite this, the bakery's offerings for everyday pastries and sweet treats remain a popular choice, indicating a strong reputation for their ready-to-go items.

September 10 · marsh BonnyThis bakery was the worst experience I ever encountered in my life !!! I ordered a cake with anticipation 3 weeks prior for my daughter’s birthday customized fast forward to the day of the party I get a call to pick up my cake because it’s ready around 2pm I get there there’s no cake ready no lettering on the cake the two people there in the front are just walking back and fourth looking at each other for 15 mins have no idea what’s going on ! Finally they print the pic for the cake the guy adds the letters n throws the cake in the box with out showing me how it looks because he knew the horrible job he did ! I get home time to cut the cake my daughter’s name is spelled wrong, the stitch print is crooked ! I was charged 90 dollars for a poorly done job is not right I call the bakery all the guy said was he couldn’t do anything and that any where I go I have to wait who says that so why call me and tell me it’s ready for pick up when it’s not ! At that point what was I supposed to do leave my daughter with out a cake ! Never ordering a cake from here ever again if you want a cake that looks last min poorly done this is your place ! I wish I can give it 0 stars but unfortunately I can’t but I will never come back or order from here ! Lesson learned ps my daughters name is Samalia not Amalia 😒🙄

July 12 · BirdBoyThey make amazing cakes!! Truly (and we are picky.) The tres leches are amazing; I get them for events. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's our go to now. It's clear the 1 star reviews are fake.
