What is Worth Choosing
For New York residents considering Laisla Bakery, the key draw is its dual offering of a local bakery’s essentials and comforting, prepared dishes. It's a pragmatic choice for convenience in a busy neighborhood. However, potential visitors should be aware of a few reported issues that have impacted some customer experiences, while weighing the positive feedback on the food itself.
The primary reason to choose Laisla Bakery is the promise of good food and a quick, in-and-out experience. Local customers have confirmed that the quality of the food is a definite plus. For someone craving a fast, hearty lunch or dinner that offers a taste of Latin cuisine, the menu, which reportedly includes items like Salchipapa, would be appealing. This suggests a blend of flavors that reflects The Bronx’s rich cultural diversity. The combination of a bakery setting with a hot food menu offers a unique value proposition for the local clientele. For example, a patron could grab a quick lunch and simultaneously pick up fresh-baked items for the next day, saving a stop elsewhere.
A Note on Service and Experience: It is important for any local New York business to maintain consistent service quality, and customers have shared feedback indicating areas for improvement. Specifically, reviews have highlighted serious concerns regarding customer service, including rudeness, a lack of professional communication, issues with overcharging, and concerns about food spoilage and foreign objects in food. One customer recounted an overcharge and a denial of a receipt, while another mentioned finding a hair in their food and experiencing a rude interaction when attempting to resolve the issue. These are significant quality control and customer service matters that a business must address immediately to maintain local trust and a positive reputation.
The Takeaway for the Local Customer: If you are willing to visit the establishment solely for the taste of the prepared food, which some reviewers have noted as "good," and you prioritize a fast-service takeout model, Laisla Bakery can serve its purpose as a quick meal option on Westchester Avenue. However, as with any local business, it is always wise to remain attentive to the service details, such as verifying your order and payment, and to provide constructive feedback should any issues arise. Supporting local businesses is a cornerstone of the New York community, and a business that is responsive to customer concerns is one that can thrive long-term.
In summary, Laisla Bakery is a local Bronx establishment offering baked goods and Latin-style prepared foods with a focus on quick service and takeout convenience. It is located at 1522 Westchester Ave, an easily accessible spot for local New Yorkers, with paid street parking available nearby. The appeal lies in its dual menu and convenient location, but customers should manage expectations regarding service quality based on previous public feedback.

Laisla Bakery Reviews
I am writing this review to express my dissatisfaction with the service I have received at this establishment on several occasions. Although the food is good, I have experienced several issues that have led me to question the quality of service and the integrity of your business. First, on a previous occasion, I purchased food from your establishment and upon opening the package, I noticed that the food was spoiled, specifically that it was “expired.” This was especially concerning since I had purchased the food the same day. Also, on another occasion, your establishment overcharged me, specifically $10-12 more than I was supposed to pay. Although I was offered a free plate on the next visit as compensation, I was not given my money back and it seemed like an attempt to justify the mistake. Recently, I visited your establishment again and ordered a Salchipapa. However, I was told that there were no sausages and that they could only give me the potatoes. I agreed and paid, but was surprised to be given a small plate, different from the one given to a lady who purchased before me. I was also denied a receipt for payment, claiming that I should have asked for it. However, I believe it is the business's obligation to give it to me without me asking. Overall, I have noticed that the quality of service and integrity of this business has declined over time. While the food is good, the service and customer service are poor. In short, I would give your establishment a 2 star rating. The food is good, but the service and customer service are poor. I hope you take steps to address these issues and improve the quality of service at this establishment.
