The quest for the perfect New York slice often leads to the unassuming storefronts of neighborhood legends. In Flushing, Queens, that search ends at Lucia Pizza, an Italian American eatery with deep roots in the community. As a professional content writer specializing in local business features, we are delighted to shine a spotlight on this Flushing institution, a go-to spot for those craving authentic, high-quality New York pizza, calzones, and baked pasta dishes. Lucia Pizza isn't just a restaurant; it's a piece of Queens history, a classic pizza joint that has served generations of New Yorkers since the 1960s, offering a taste of tradition with every crispy, cheesy bite.
This long-standing establishment is renowned for its straightforward, no-frills approach to quality food. Visitors consistently praise the perfectly baked, flavorful pizza with a great balance of sauce and cheese. Whether you are a college student grabbing a quick bite, a local resident, or a tourist exploring the dynamic Flushing area, Lucia Pizza offers a casual, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. It truly is a neighborhood gem, celebrated for its fair prices and commitment to classic Italian American comfort food.
The core of Lucia Pizza's appeal is the authentic New York style thin-crust pizza. The regular slice is a local favorite, described as a classic that is hard to beat in the area. However, the menu extends far beyond the traditional cheese pie, offering a wide array of options to satisfy any craving for Italian comfort food.
Lucia Pizza is strategically situated in the bustling heart of the downtown urban Flushing shopping district in Queens, New York. Its precise address is 136-55B, 136-55 Roosevelt Ave, Flushing, NY 11354, USA. This location makes it an incredibly convenient stop for New Yorkers on the move.
For those traveling via public transportation, the pizzeria is easily accessible. The 7 and 7X subway lines stop at the nearby Flushing - Main St. station, just a short and manageable walk from the restaurant. This makes it an ideal stop for a pre- or post-game meal if you're heading to or from Citi Field. For drivers, paid street parking is available in the vicinity, though, like much of downtown Flushing, the area is busy. Patrons should be aware that while there is a small area for dine-in, seating is limited—often consisting of just a few stools and a counter—contributing to its cozy, classic "hole in the wall" charm. Many customers choose to grab their food to go, making it the perfect option for a quality quick bite.
The operating hours for Lucia Pizza are generally accommodating to most schedules: Monday through Saturday, they are open from 10:30 AM to 10:30 PM, and on Sunday, they are open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. These hours ensure that you can stop in for a satisfying meal whether it’s for a midday lunch, an evening dinner, or a late-night slice.

When visiting Lucia Pizza, New Yorkers have a few standout menu options that are absolutely worth choosing for the quintessential experience. First and foremost, you must try the Regular Slice. This thin-crust classic is what put Lucia Pizza on the map, celebrated for its simple perfection: a satisfyingly crispy crust (when eaten fresh), a flavorful sauce, and a generous layer of melted mozzarella. For a slightly different but equally authentic experience, the Sicilian Slice, a thick, square-cut pie, is highly recommended and praised by locals.
If you are planning to feed a group or just have an extra appetite, a whole pie is the way to go. The menu offers options ranging from the Medium Pie (starting at $14.50) to the House (Extra Large) Pie (starting at $23.00). Customizing a pie with your choice of toppings like pepperoni, sausage, or mushrooms is highly encouraged. For those who enjoy a bit of everything, the Special Pie (5 Toppings) option provides maximum flavor for a great value.
Beyond the pizza itself, the Calzones and Baked Pasta selections make for excellent comfort food. The Cheese Calzone (starting at $8.00) or the Combo Calzone ($10.50) is a satisfying, cheesy pocket of dough. The Baked Ziti (starting at $9.00) is a robust and hearty choice, particularly when paired with Meatballs, Sausage, or Eggplant. And finally, no order is complete without a side of their famous Garlic Knots, available for just $1.00 for three pieces, making it one of the most affordable and delicious additions to your meal. Lucia Pizza successfully combines quality, tradition, and value, cementing its status as a must-visit Italian American restaurant in the heart of Flushing, Queens.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Lucia Pizza in Flushing is absolutely amazing! The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. The pizza was fresh, perfectly baked, and full of flavor — truly some of the best I’ve had. The crust was crisp yet chewy, the sauce was rich and balanced, and the cheese melted beautifully. On top of that, the atmosphere was welcoming and the service was great, making the visit even more enjoyable. If you’re in Flushing, this is a must-visit spot for delicious pizza. 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕
August 22 · Sean JTiny little intimate pizza spot near Main St in Flushing. First time my sons had been to NY and of course they wanted to try a slice of the famous NY pizza. This place didm't disappoint at all. The cheese, the sauce, the crispy crust, the pepperoni were all on point. Service was fast and mad affordable. Pizza was a hit with my boys and I already knew it was going to be great. Hit them up if in the neighborhood, well worth it.
August 18 · Christian NavarroJust started working in the area decided to get a slice at lunch. Tasted good but the sauce was a bit too saucy I lifted the slice up and instantly cheese and sauce started sliding off. Not sure if it needed more cooking time but was a bit disappointed in the structural integrity of the slice. Don’t get me wrong it tasted good but I had to use both my hands and may even recommend a fork when eating this pizza. Again not sure if it needed more cooking time because I see the other slices on these reviews and they look like they have better structural integrity. Just wasn’t prepared for a sloppy yet tasty slice of pizza for lunch.
August 13 · Cullen MacDonnellStopped in for a quick slice and a soda. Ordered a cheese and diet coke($5 all together). The pizza was perfectly cooked, very cheesey with a nice solid crust. It satisfied my NY pizza craving!Would recommend! 9/10
September 19 · Amy GallagherBest pizza in Flushing by far! 🍕 The pizza is fresh, hot, cheesy, and greasy, everything you’d hope for in a New York slice. Seating is very limited in this little hole in the wall, but service is quick and the food is quality. If you’re in the area, I’d highly recommend!
