★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Went there for my birthday dinner! Everyone is so kind and welcoming. Our chef was so happy to tell us all about each piece and the fish themselves. The food was melt in your mouth delicious. Each course was interesting visually and on the palette. I love that they show you pictures of what the fish look like that each course comes from. They also tell you about where the fish is sourced and the seasonality. I’m plotting bringing my fellow sushi lovers.
August 30 · Ozra Karkehabadi💎What a gem! We booked a last minute reservation at this place nearby our hotel. Turned out to be the best meal on our trip!We each did the classic omakase and the special omakase. Every course of the meal was so delightful and pleasant. Highly recommend the scallop! The waitress and the chefs were very nice and welcoming - they even showed pictures of each fish throughout the meal. We went to many omakase and sushi restaurants, and this was the first time we actually knew what we were eating😆 it was such an unique dining experience. We will definitely come back next time!
July 27 · Amber YangGreat experience and incredible food. They were very attentive and even asked if we wanted a different level of wasabi or soy sauce or other customization options, which I've never heard of from a high class omakase place before. It is a tiny thing, but awesome to hear. They let us sample 3 different sake varieties to ensure we found one we all enjoyed -- and we did! However, one or two pieces of nigiri had too much wasabi, which we thought was odd considering how much more they had compared to others, and it took away from the otherwise incredible time. Also, it would have been nice to have a label or something of the different fish written down so when we took pictures and tried them we'd know what we liked the best -- was difficult to keep track of all the different things we had.Besides those minor quibbles it was amazing. Highly recommended.
August 04 · Stefan Lopuszanski (Stexe)I came here for dinner one evening and had a great time. The inside of the omkase room is comfortable and casual, but still nice. There's a bar section, but also two booths for you to sit at if you choose. We ended up choosing to sit at their booths. We came at 7pm on a Wednesday evening and there was still plenty of space, so you could definitely do a walk-in here.We chose their original omakase set, which included 1 appetizer, 13 nigiri, and 1 kaisendon for $100. We also got a carafe of sake. Everything was great. My favorites of this omakase set were their botan ebi, miso black cod, and uni kaisendon. We also decided to follow up with an otoro handroll and uni nigiri. Loved those pieces and thought that they did them really well. This spot is more traditional (less innovative with their pieces/garnishes) and has a bigger focus on white fish. With each piece, we were shown a powerpoint and picture of the fish. Staff was great. Cool experience, and good omakase in Williamsburg!
April 17 · Mia HuynhOur experience at Mido was fantastic! I loved how they showed us which fish came out at each course, as well as seasonality and where it came from. A great experience if you're looking for traditional omakase, and the servers and chefs were absolutely fantastic!
