New Peking Introduce
In a city filled with diverse culinary options, there's always a special place for a classic neighborhood Chinese takeout spot. New Peking in Brooklyn embodies this tradition perfectly. It's the kind of place that many locals have been going to for years, a reliable source of simple, satisfying, and hot food. Described as a "traditional hood Chinese food spot" by long-time patrons, New Peking is all about the food itself, prioritizing a delicious and quick meal over flashy aesthetics or a formal dining experience. The atmosphere is unapologetically casual, reflecting its primary focus on fast and efficient service.
The menu at New Peking is a testament to the classic American-Chinese fare that New Yorkers have come to love. While not an extensive menu in terms of unique dishes, it covers all the familiar favorites. You'll find sections for Seafood, Beef, and Poultry, with dishes like Shrimp with Broccoli, Beef with Chinese Vegetable, and Chicken with String Beans, all served with white rice. These are the staples that provide a reliable and comforting meal, whether for lunch or dinner.
However, what truly stands out, according to customer reviews, are the specific menu items that have earned a loyal following. The egg rolls are a particular highlight, praised for being a great option and a fantastic "hangover meal" when paired with a soda. Similarly, the chicken wings are also highly recommended, with one reviewer stating they are "pretty damn good." These small plates and quick bites are what make New Peking an easy and appealing choice when you're looking for something fast and satisfying. The menu also includes classics like Chow Fun and Chow Mai Fun, catering to those who prefer noodle dishes.
The business model of New Peking is built entirely around convenience. It is a takeout establishment, with no mention of a dine-in option, making it the perfect spot for people on the go. The reviews consistently praise the speed of service, with one customer noting that their food was ready in "2 to 3 minutes" for a small order. This focus on being a quick bite provider is a key feature, especially for New Yorkers who appreciate fast and reliable service. Furthermore, the fact that they are open late makes them a great option for late-night food, catering to a different but equally important need in the city's round-the-clock culture.
While some online reviews have mentioned occasional issues with delivery and food quality, the positive comments consistently highlight the friendly staff and the comforting nature of the food. It's a place that delivers on its promise of hot, quick, and familiar Chinese comfort food. The fact that the staff is described as "friendly" and caring despite the fast-paced, "hole in the wall" nature of the establishment speaks to a dedication to service that goes beyond just handing over a bag of food. New Peking is a true local spot, a no-frills destination where the food speaks for itself and the service is always dependable.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Traditional hood Chinese Food spot. There’s only 3 reasons why you would find yourself here: 1) You’ve been going to this spot your whole life. 2) There’s a particular menu item that you really like, which makes up for the total lack of aesthetics and ambiance. 3) The egg rolls at this Brooklyn hood Chinese Food spot taste so much better than the ones from the Staten Island hood Chinese Food spot. (I recommend the egg rolls.)
December 20 · Many Attitudes of Dennisi've only had their wings and their egg rolls. egg rolls and a coke, best hangover meal there is. staff is friendly. it's a hole in the wall next to public housing, food is quick, hot and i do believe they generally care. chicken wings are pretty damn good
November 12 · Daniel MekelburgOkay I ordered my food and went to go pick it up. I gave them plenty of time to make it but it still wasn’t done and when I got there she then just told the man to make my order. That bothered me a little but the food just mad it worse. I got the orange chicken and white rice. The orange chicken was mushy, looked very rushed and tasted TERRIBLE. Like trash to be honest and the the white rice was old and stale. The restaurant is disgusting and dirty and needs to be cleaned up just walking in makes you feel disgusting. Definitely deserves one star. This was also not my first time going here but my second time and I had the same results as the first time.
March 07 · ItzYourGurlFaithThe place is dirty. The chicken in the chicken and broccoli was only flour with no chicken. The vegetable rolls tasted like rusted metal. The fried chicken wings were fatty and soggy. Would never go here again.
February 08 · Akeem MontgomeryHow can people give 4 or 5 stars? It's ridiculous. The rice is always, what I call water logged aka mush, rice is supposed to be firm. The quality of the tso chicken and beef that comes with the broccoli are below standard, hint they need to buy fresh chicken and beef and know how to cook it. I have eaten Chinese food for 45 years from at least 6 different places when I lived in Williamsburg, and I have to say, I've never had such bad quality Chinese food, ever.... After trying the tso chicken my mom said, no way, take the train back to Williamsburg or find somewhere else, lol The chicken wings might as well be pigeon wings, both wings and half chicken are dry and tough, wings and half chicken are supposed to be golden, fluffy and crispy, not like dry leather. Now I will say, the Honey spare rib tips and boneless chicken are very good, I understand this is ghetto type Chinese food, but, oh boy. I'll order my food from somewhere else, on the app, or as I always go to Williamsburg once a month I'll get a few orders for the family I rather pay some more for quality. That is all. P.S watch for your change, they're money hungry and an attitude to boot. And their inspection has been pending since I moved here in April, heh, beware. One last thing, I come from a time when Chinese restaurants actually cared about the quality of their food. It's sad. The only better place is china town Manhattan.
