You mix it together before eating, and the freshness really wakes up your palate.Next was the chawanmushi with white truffle, cherry sweet shrimp, and bottarga powder—smooth, fragrant, and layered with umami. Sad to say, this new sushi spot is just not it.The ambience, presence of private tatami mat rooms, and attention from wait staff give it that high service/atmosphere rating.Now on to the food. Don’t be deceived by photos, my phone decided to put in some effort that day 😂. First of all, the raw ingredients are put into the same box, haphazardly stacked on top of each other. Multiple chefs would be taking pre-sliced pieces of fish from the box and filling them as needed, just shoving the newly pre-sliced fish in wherever they found space. This was a first for any sushi spot I’ve ever been to. The fish is simply not “fresh fresh fresh” as a lot of the reviews here claim it to be. Their cuts are of lower quality and do not taste fresh at all.At the end of the day this is just another run of the mill “bromakase” location doing it worse than others in the area. If you want to go for the vibes, this will be your place as they do have a nice interior.

The decor and interior are very pretty. The private tatami rooms are also a nice touch.The food though, that’s the reason why you go out to eat. You don’t go out for the service, atmosphere, or decor- you go for the food.I witnessed the chef putting the raw meat on top of the raw fish in the box, that’s cross contamination. I didn’t like seeing that.None of the omakase pieces stood out to me. They were average and mediocre at best. It was just nothing special at all. If anything, the amount of wasabi being added to the pieces increased as the meal went on. Not to mention, the pieces of fish were definitely on the smaller side to the point where it didn’t even cover the wasabi sticking out.With all of these highly rated reviews, I had high hopes, but it all came crumbling down the more I ate there. It really did not live up to my expectations in the slightest. Truly disappointing in terms of food quality.All in all, if you want omakase from another generic sushi place in Flushing, you can come here and see for yourself. I on the other hand, will not be coming back.
