Akino (Flushing) Introduce
Are you a sushi lover in New York City searching for a go-to spot that offers both incredible value and uncompromising quality? Look no further than Akino, a renowned sushi destination that has delighted diners in Queens with its all-you-can-eat (AYCE) concept. This is not your typical AYCE restaurant; Akino has earned a reputation for its commitment to using fresh ingredients, generous portions of fish, and a menu that goes far beyond the standard sushi rolls.
In a city where finding great sushi can often mean a hefty price tag, Akino stands out as a true gem. The restaurant's philosophy is simple: provide an extensive, high-quality menu that allows customers to explore a wide variety of flavors and dishes without worrying about the bill. From the moment you walk in, the clean, minimalist, and comfortable ambiance sets the stage for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. It’s a place where you can comfortably bring the family, enjoy a date night, or simply indulge in a solo dining adventure. Akino’s dedication to a superior dining experience is evident in its attentive and friendly staff, and the consistent positive feedback from its patrons highlights its success.
The secret to Akino's success lies in its approach to the AYCE model. Unlike some establishments that might load up their rolls with excessive rice to fill you up faster, Akino prioritizes a perfect fish-to-rice ratio. Customers frequently rave about the generous amount of fresh fish in their rolls and nigiri, ensuring that every bite is packed with the flavor you came for. This focus on quality over quantity has made Akino a favorite among locals who appreciate getting their money's worth.
With an ever-evolving menu that includes seasonal specials, like a recent A5 Wagyu offering, Akino continuously surprises and impresses its regulars. It’s a testament to the restaurant’s high standards and its commitment to keeping the dining experience fresh and exciting. Whether you're a long-time resident of Queens or just visiting, Akino is a must-try for any sushi enthusiast.
The extensive menu at Akino is a major draw for many. It's not just about the sushi; the restaurant offers a comprehensive selection of Japanese cuisine. This makes it an ideal spot for groups with varying tastes, as there's truly something for everyone. For instance, if you're dining with someone who isn't a fan of raw fish, they can enjoy a variety of delicious kitchen appetizers and entrees. Akino is particularly celebrated for its diverse offerings, which cater to a wide range of palates and preferences.
For those who love to explore and try new things, the all-you-can-eat system at Akino is a dream come true. You can sample different rolls, nigiri, and appetizers without the pressure of a la carte pricing. The ordering process is simple and efficient—you mark your choices on a paper menu, which helps the staff serve your food promptly and accurately. This seamless system ensures that you can focus on enjoying your meal and the company you're with, rather than stressing about the logistics.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Came here for lunch but decided to go for the dinner menu to order the sushi bar appetizers. For 46$ before tax and tip, there is a pretty extensive menu both kitchen and sushi. I enjoyed all the tatakis, sushi bombs and yellowtail jalapeño.The special rolls were packed with fish. They do NOT skimp out, I will say this is probably the only time I wish they put a little more rice. For some rolls, like the Akino roll that has mayo and a bunch of other sauces, it felt like there was nothing to soak up the sauce. It was a mouthful of fish and flavor with nothing to balance it out. Usually AYCE places put more rice and less fish so I do appreciate that this place is honest about that.Faves were the yellowtail jalapeño and the tuna sushi bomb. Service was great and they were super attentive in clearing plates and taking orders. The ambience was minimalistic and clean. The food came out at a decent pace. They have a slight discount if you pay with cash so perhaps a good idea if you’re going with a big group.Overall, good quality and options. It’s one of the better AYCE in my opinion.
September 24 · Shirley ZThe food here is always fresh and delicious, with so many different options to choose from. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and feels very cozy and comfortable. It’s also very family-friendly, which I really appreciate — my child felt very welcome here. A big plus is that kids under 3 eat for free. Highly recommend for both families and friends looking for a nice place to enjoy a meal!
September 20 · haiting heThe whole experience from beginning to end was top notch! We came here in between medical appointments and was not disappointed at all! Everything was perfectly cooked, crispy, delicious, perfect. We highly recommend you come here hungry then leave full of joy! The staff is wonderful and caring. You can start off with hot tea or ice cold water then dive into the menu, which has such wide variety of foods, my wife and I agreed we must make multiple visits. To the staff and team, keep up the outstanding work! Thank you for the 5-star experience!
September 25 · Kale YesI was walking around with friends to have a dinner together and we had the best dining experience at Akino. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance felt warm, stylish, welcoming and perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions.Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. My favorite rolls are Akino, Hypest, and Moonstruck. I also think that they are really creative with the sushi pizza and the dragon balls. The dishes here are incredibly fresh and flavorful. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and care deeply about the details. It is for sure a Quality over Quantity store. The service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive without being overbearing, super knowledgeable about the menu, and happy to offer recommendations. If you're a fan of modern Japanese cuisine with creative twists, Akino is a must visit. It deserves way more recognition. I am excited to dine in with them again. It is definitely better than the Elmhurst location and would come here more!
September 13 · Fiona WangI was waiting for this location to open for so long and cannot be more happy that they’re finally here! I’ve been going to the Elmhurst location for a while now, and glad that there’s a location closer to where I live.Food was amazing and the staff is super friendly. They’re all attentive and on top of it. The decor is beautiful and I love the wooden plates with the little holder for the sauces. They can also do dinner for lunch, so you can ask for the dinner menu! They’re very accommodating. You should 100% stop by if you’re in the area and want some good ACYE sushi!
August 06 · Cin ElThe menu selection was pretty good especially for the price. The interior looks clean and the servers were polite. The vibes were there… but the food. I understand it’s AYCE and they want to be mindful of portion sizes. However, giving customers a dime size amount of rice is not okay. The fish was thinly sliced and my sushi roll was breaking apart.Again, it’s a beautiful restaurant but I will not be returning because the food wasn’t it. I waited a long time for my food and I was disappointed with what I got.
