Oslo Coffee Roasters Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For any New Yorker, particularly those in the vibrant North Brooklyn scene, a local coffee shop is more than just a place to grab caffeine; it’s an extension of the living room, an unofficial office, and a community hub. The culture of specialty coffee in Williamsburg is robust, defined by a commitment to high-quality beans, expert brewing, and a distinct aesthetic. Within this thriving landscape, Oslo Coffee Roasters has carved out a unique and respected position. Opened over two decades ago, it was a true pioneer in the neighborhood's artisanal coffee movement, well before the national chains arrived.
Oslo Coffee Roasters stands as a beacon for coffee purists and casual drinkers alike. Its name and minimalist design draw inspiration from the strong coffee tradition of Scandinavia, where quality and simplicity are paramount. However, the focus is less on geography and more on the commitment to the bean itself—specifically, sourcing premium, Fair Trade, and Organic beans from around the globe and roasting them in small batches right here in Brooklyn. This dedication ensures every cup, whether a simple espresso or a complex iced mocha, meets an exceptional standard.
What makes the Roebling Street location a favorite among locals is its blend of serious coffee expertise and a welcoming, casual atmosphere. It’s a dedicated coffee shop, a full-service café, and an espresso bar all in one, offering a comprehensive beverage menu alongside fresh pastries sourced from respected local bakers. It’s a perfect spot for those seeking quality comfort food and, notably, is a popular destination for New Yorkers looking for a great place to work on their laptops, even without dedicated public Wi-Fi—a testament to its inspiring and conducive setting. The highly rated quality of the coffee here, often changing the minds of self-proclaimed “non-coffee lovers,” makes Oslo a must-visit institution in the New York coffee scene.
Location and Accessibility
The primary focus location for Oslo Coffee Roasters, and its original flagship store, is at 133 Roebling St, Brooklyn, NY 11211, USA. This address places it in a highly sought-after, yet slightly quieter, part of Williamsburg, away from the intense hustle of Bedford Avenue but still central enough to be a neighborhood staple. The location is easily reachable for all New York users and offers excellent accessibility features, which is a significant plus in an older city like New York.
Accessibility is a key highlight of this location, making it welcoming to everyone. The facility boasts a Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible seating, and a Wheelchair accessible restroom.
For transit-reliant New Yorkers, the shop is conveniently located near major subway lines. The L train at Bedford Avenue, a main artery connecting Williamsburg to Manhattan, is a straightforward walk away, as are various bus routes serving the area. The street itself allows for outdoor seating, and pets are welcome in the exterior areas, adding to its friendly, neighborhood cafe feel. This combination of central Brooklyn location, transit proximity, and thoughtful physical accessibility firmly establishes Oslo Coffee Roasters as a convenient and welcoming spot for the entire community.

What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Oslo Coffee Roasters is about opting for authenticity and uncompromising quality in a neighborhood saturated with coffee options. What is truly worth choosing here is the opportunity to experience coffee roasted by a genuine, local institution.
First, you must try their Espresso-based drinks. The dedication to the craft of coffee roasting translates directly into the quality of the shot. If you are a fan of cold coffee, the highly-praised Iced Mocha is a must-try. Customers note its "perfect balance" of flavor—not too sweet, not too bitter—and its rich, smooth texture, a combination that has won over many New Yorkers who previously dismissed specialty coffee. Other well-executed cold options, such as the Iced Cortado and Iced Latte, are equally excellent choices for warm days.
Secondly, their commitment to Fair Trade Organic sourcing, demonstrated in their seasonal whole bean offerings like the Nicaragua Selva Negra Estate or the Guatemala Asociación Chajul, makes Oslo a conscious choice. For those brewing at home, buying a bag of their freshly roasted beans is the best way to bring a piece of their quality into your kitchen.
Finally, pair your drink with a local pastry. The classic Ceci Cela Patisserie plain or almond croissant is a perfect counterpoint to the strong coffee. In short, Ayra Halal Food is worth choosing because it provides an atmosphere that is perfectly conducive to the modern New York lifestyle—casual, friendly, accessible, and uncompromising on the single most important thing: the delicious, expertly roasted coffee itself.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ll admit I’m not usually a fan of coffee for the taste. I drink it more for the caffeine than the flavor. But I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed the iced mocha at Oslo Coffee. It completely changed my perspective. The drink had a perfect balance, not overly sweet, not too bitter. The texture stood out most. The combination of steamed milk and chilled coffee made it both rich and refreshing, especially on a warm day. It was flavorful without being overpowering, smooth without being heavy. This is easily one of the best iced mochas I’ve ever had and I’m already looking forward to coming back next time I'm in New York. Highly recommend even for non-coffee lovers like myself
September 14 · KaiAwesome decor and atmosphere here. Wish they had a matcha latte, regular latte was perf though. No wifi, so bring your hotspot if you’re trying to work.
November 18 · StephenOut of all the coffee shops I’ve tried in Williamsburg, this one has been consistently the best with high quality espresso.Go to coffee shop for a the easiest, best flat white. Also, my favorite fresh espresso beans to use at home (Odin for espresso and Frye for dark roast coffee).
March 26 · Dara PappasThere is no WiFi & outlet available and poor cellphone service (T-mobile is our carrier.) inside Oslo Coffee Roasters. It was not a good place for work but friends-gathering.We ordered their Latte and Mocha with latte art. The coffee was decent, smooth and creamy with no artificial flavor. The price is reasonable around Williamsburg area. However, we might not visit again or only for take-out due to internet status.
February 23 · Hsin Yi WeiThe decoration is beautiful, but there is no outlet and the door was always open, and it was really cold. Hot chocolate is not really tasteful. For a coffee shop is not very comfortable, it is not a good place to enjoy your coffee while reading or spending time.
