When considering a choice for Chinese food in the South Salem, NY area, local residents look for a convenient, accessible option. Panda Garden provides several operational benefits that contribute to its role as a neighborhood fixture. It offers the basic and necessary services of dine-in and takeout, ensuring flexibility for the customer's preferred dining format. The commitment to accessibility, including wheelchair access and free, easy parking, removes common logistical barriers, which is highly valuable for the local New York community.
However, an important consideration for potential patrons is the feedback regarding the core product: the food itself. The factual, public customer reviews available are extremely negative, describing the food as "Inedible" and "Just terrible," with one reviewer noting they "had to throw out my kung pow chicken." As a factual representation, it must be stated that multiple local customers have reported significant dissatisfaction with the quality of the dishes served.
Therefore, a choice to visit Panda Garden should be made with a full awareness of the operational convenience—its great accessibility, free parking, and family-friendly, casual atmosphere—weighing against the reported substantial issues with the food quality. While the structure and convenience factors are in place to support a positive dining experience in terms of logistics, the available feedback strongly indicates that the culinary experience may not meet the standard expected by patrons in the Westchester County area. For those prioritizing easy access, ample parking, and a quick, casual service style above all else, Panda Garden offers those features. However, for those whose primary motivation is the quality of the Chinese cuisine, the existing customer reports suggest exercising caution.

September 26 · Michelle .DI rarely review anything. Just terrible. Ordered from here twice. Thought first time might have been a fluke. I eat almost anything and had to throw out my kung pow chicken. Never again.
January 22 · Laurence KrulikOur family absolutely LOVES Panda Garden. Every single Friday, it is our go-to spot. The family running the restaurant has never gotten anything wrong, the food is incredibly delicious, and does not have a ton of oil (as many places in the area do struggle with that a bit). Thank you so much for always being so reliable and we appreciate all of you. Panda Garden is a part of our family routine and we will continue to keep up the tradition. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
May 20 · Alexandre RossiPanda Garden at the Oakridge Commons in the hamlet of Vista is a really good "hole in the wall" place for reasonably priced Chinese cuisine. Dismal place for dine in, but great for take out. Run by an older couple and occassionally their hip and friendly daughter. You can get generous portions and tasty, homey cooking! They have yummy bags of 4 almond cookies for $1 at the cash register. I love these and my cat, Rosie, always wants to nibble on them too! They have excellent homemade mustard and sweet sauce. Poo Poo Platter is a fun combo appetizer for two. I really recommend you to stop by when you are in the Vista neighborhood!
March 09 · Susan PlanFood that was not fried was good; but the food that came from the frier was disgusting as they had used it for fish or shellfish and not changed the oil. Ruined my meal when the chicken and everything it touched tasted like old cod.
