★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Visited Pangat recently and had a mixed but memorable experience. The space is beautifully designed, with two distinct seating areas front and back both tastefully decorated. I noticed Worli-style paintings that added a lovely cultural touch, and the tables bore a logo that made me wonder if the place had changed ownership. The hostess, who appeared Japanese, was warm and welcoming, and the overall staff vibe was friendly and attentive.I had reserved a table for Sunday evening, and everything was smooth on arrival. We ordered masala papad, Schezwan noodles, and tangdi kabab. The masala papad was crisp and flavorful, and the noodles while not quite the authentic desi-Chinese we expected were spicy and juicy. The server was great and service was fast. The tangdi kabab, however, was slightly undercooked and visibly pink inside. The chef did remove it from our bill and offered complimentary lassi, though the interaction felt a bit tense and unconvincing. That said, I appreciated the gesture.I also noticed several diners enjoying dosa and the food seemed genuinely tasty. I’ll definitely be back to try those next time.Despite the hiccup, the ambiance and hospitality stood out. Pangat has potential, and with a bit more consistency in the kitchen, it could be a go-to spot.
September 23 · Simran RajaniI had an amazing experience at Pangat Restaurant! The Bara Pao, Masala Dosa, and Chaat were absolutely delicious so fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The Mango Lassi was creamy, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the meal. The food tasted homemade with such great quality, and the service was excellent.✨ Highly recommend this place for anyone who loves fresh and flavorful dishes!
August 31 · Sanjida JannyThe food and overall experience were excellent, but the payment system was a bit frustrating as we had to wait for the server to connect.Definitely would recommend this place for the best Indian food in Brooklyn!!
September 10 · Pauras GhagI wanted to love this new spot so much. The patio seating is really cute. The staff is lovely and cordial. The food took a very long time to prepare. I was long done with my dosa, which was not as crisp as I'm accustomed to and had the tiniest bit of potato filling (I was offered more and asked for it, but never got it), though it tasted lovely and came adorned with a cute heart-shaped pat of butter, before my son's butter chicken even arrived. That was surprising, since normally I'd expect butter chicken to be prepared in advance and dosa to take longer to prepare. The butter chicken was different than I'm accustomed to, though well-spiced. The chapati was tasty, as was the masala papad. The portions are very small for the cost. It is also a la carte, and rice is separate. At that price point, rice should be included. I have never been to a restaurant that charges these prices and doesn't offer bread, or in this case perhaps papadam free with a meal. They were out of two of the items on the menu, and the menu doesn't offer much to begin with. I am, however, curious about the Sunday pop-up events, so I might give this place another try.
August 19 · m mUpdated review to share a picture of the butter chicken which we got on our second visit. Deeply flavorful, a touch sweeter and richer than standard recipes, and incredibly tender chicken thigh. The dishes on the menu are unique and have a flavor you can't find in your typical Indian takeout spot.If you're looking to be impressed, the flavors here make pangat worth a visit. The masala dosa had a fantastic spice mix and the goat biryani was rich and savory. Also really enjoyed the chat appetizer which was served like pani puri.Very highly recommend this place if you're a fan of some of NYC's other well known upscale south Asian restaurants and want to find similar flavors in a more relaxed environment!
