★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I LOVE THIS SPOT & you will too!!!This place is hands down authentic Italian food, its THE place to get a sub. To start, the people, the service, was super friendly, and always is because I've been here numerous of times. Also, this just so happens to be my favorite location. It definitely gives hole-in-the-wall vibes but trust me when I say trust the process. The first time I ever went, someone was boasting about how good the chicken cutlet sandwich was. I didn't order it, but still, both my friend and I's food was hands down amazing. We sat at the single table they ave for seating, that seats two!I got the Ricky sandwich and my friend got Cousin Anthony which again, both amazing. Fresh and even when I ate the other half 4 hours later, unrefrigerated, and through the pouring rain, it was somehow still perfect. Whenever I'm in the area, I will always be a loyal customer (:
July 11 · Bella TeebagyI came here to look at the products available to purchase. I also ordered some canolis. They were filled with a vanilla filling. I have had many cannoli before and these were definitely up there. The cannoli was crunchy and not soggy. The filling was just the right amount of sweetness. I definitely want to go back to try some of the other menu items as well. What makes this location great is that it is right next to a good pizza place.
August 12 · Brody HelmsSmall Italian grocery in Chinatown serving up huge tasting sandwiches. Laid back establishment with cool staff.Buy a sandwich and take a load off dining in. My go to is “uncle john” but every sandwich is a great choice.
September 22 · Jesse YuanRegina’s Grocery was for sure one of my favorite restaurants I visited while in New York. It’s a cute storefront with little tables and various Italian dry goods for sale. I got the Uncle Jimmy’s, which is probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve eaten. It has fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, peppers, and the perfect amount of sauce that had a little kick to it. The customer service was amazing with the employees being super nice. They threw away our trash and cleared stuff off our table when we finished without us even asking. My friend wanted to buy an additional water to have, but they insisted on giving it to us for free. They also gave us two little treats when we left. After waiting in so many lines and fighting for seating while in New York, it was refreshing to have available seating and fast service. I would definitely come back!
July 17 · Grace VigtelThis unassuming sandwich shop is an homage to a bygone era of Italian sandwich shops I grew up going to. The walls are littered with vintage photos from a family photo album. And the shelves are covered with Italian olive oil and other staples of Nona’s kitchen. The shop is small, with only a few two-top tables against the walls. The menu is also small and features a small selection of classic combinations of Italian deli meats, a few based on chicken and at least one of chicken of the sea. There are also salads, but I didn’t see anyone ordering one, so let’s say a sandwich is the move. Each sandwich is about 8”-10” and is made on classic American Italian bread—firm on the outside and spongy on the inside to absorb the EVOO (extra virgin olive oil.I ordered an Uncle Jimmy (see photo) w/o cheese, and my buddy ordered the Uncle John. Both are classic and as advertised—just the right balance of protein to bread to vinegar and veg.I think this might be my new favorite spot. I can’t eat deli meat every day, so I might only be able to make a pilgrimage once every couple of weeks, but I know my fictitious Nonna would be proud that I am eating well.
