In a city with an endless array of bars, some places manage to stand out by creating an experience that feels truly special and transported. Sake Bar at Sushi Oku, a hidden gem nestled in the Lower East Side, does just that. The design and feel of the bar carry the "vibe of the small style bars of Japan," as a customer noted. This intentional atmosphere creates a more personal and engaging experience than a large, loud bar. The bar is a part of the larger Sushi Oku establishment, which is itself an exclusive and hidden-away sushi counter. The bar itself feels like an exclusive, well-kept secret within the larger space. The focus on sake is clear, with a "really good variety" and a staff that is "very knowledgeable." The experience here is not just about the drink; it’s about the conversation, the people, and the feeling of being somewhere truly unique in America.

Sake Bar at Sushi Oku Reviews
Good sake selection, bit pricey but really good variety. The bartender for the night was an awesome chill guy who moved from Japan to NYC when he knew no English years ago and was fun to chat with. Everyone here was fun to talk with, from the hostess and bartender to even the sushi chef from the kitchen if he finishes for the night early!Really carries the vibe of the small style bars of Japan & Golden Gai/Shinjuku but in America. Awesome spot, definitely want to frequent more often!
