## Introduction / Overview
Roll N Roaster has been a proud part of the Sheepshead Bay community in Brooklyn, New York, since its founding by Buddy Lamonica in 1970. This establishment has cemented its reputation as the go-to place for high-quality, cooked-to-order sandwiches and fast-food classics. The restaurant's core philosophy centers on its famous motto: “You can have cheez on anything you pleez,” reflecting a fun, customer-centric approach to dining.
The menu is built around the legendary Roll-n-Roast Beef sandwich—a perfect marriage of real Choice USDA Steer Beef, roasted, trimmed, and sliced daily, served on fresh, preservative-free rolls with natural, house-made gravy. This dedication to quality extends across the entire menu, which features an array of American classics and unique sides like the beloved Golden Corn Fritters and the famous Fries-n-Cheez.
More than just its food, Roll N Roaster offers a distinct time-warp experience. Customers frequently note that the indoor dining area feels wonderfully stuck in a bygone era, providing a layer of nostalgia that is increasingly rare in modern New York City. Having served millions of customers over the years, Roll N Roaster remains an authentic originator, not an imitator, in the realm of American fast-casual dining.

## What is Worth Choosing
For a first-time visitor or a returning local, the overwhelming consensus is to start with the item that made them famous: the Roll-n-Roast Beef Sandwich. Served on a soft, fresh kaiser roll with a drizzle of natural gravy, it sets the standard for the entire meal.
To complete the quintessential Roll N Roaster experience, you should pair your sandwich with the highly-recommended combination of Fries-n-Cheez and an order of the sweet Golden Corn Fritters. The fries, once called "cottage fries," have a loyal following, and the liquid "cheez" sauce is part of the restaurant’s legendary identity.
If you are in the mood for something other than roast beef, the juicy Roll-n-Western Cheezburger is a strong choice, noted by customers for its solid punch and combination of BBQ sauce and onion rings. And don't forget a large cup of their freshly squeezed Orangeade or Strawberry Lemonade—they are essential to the Roll N Roaster flavor profile.
For those celebrating or dining with friends, remember the promotional perks, such as the option for a free thin crust pizza with a qualifying order total, or a fun spin on the birthday wheel if it’s your special day. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or an entire family feast, Roll N Roaster delivers on its promise of "simply delicious" food rooted deeply in Brooklyn's history.

Roll N Roaster Reviews
I didn’t feel like going to a restaurant today but didn’t exactly want fast food either. So this was the perfect choice for the area I was in around lunchtime. I was pretty hungry since I skipped breakfast & decided to get two roast beef sandwiches with cheese an order of golden corn fritters & a strawberry lemonade. All of which were tasty & satisfying. The restaurant was fairly clean & an employee was in the process of cleaning during my visit. The wait for my meal after placing the order wasn’t very long. It looked like they had some birthday giveaway thing where you spun a wheel for a prize. If you go with a few friends & spend over $45 you get a free mini thin crust pizza. They also serve beer, wine & champagne believe it or not. I guess for those birthday celebrations. As well as few desserts. They’ve been in business for 55 years & are well known for their roast beef sandwiches & lemonade.
September 04 · J B CClassic Brooklyn joint serving one of the best roast beef sandwiches in town! But I would have to say the western burger also packs a solid punch. You can’t go wrong with any of the items here honestly. But our go to’s are always the roast beef sandwich, western beef burger, crown fritters, chicken wings, and orangeade drink! You also have the option to put cheese on anything! If you have a young one, ask one of the cashiers for a free ballon. If happens to be your birthday, you get to spin the giant wheel for a chance to win $5-$20 prize for next time use. Also, if you spend more than $45 per order, you can get a free pizza. The inside dining area seems like it’s still stuck in the 1990s, but I’m fine with that!
September 28 · abcdanClean place inside from the dining room to the restroom. Orders are called out loud and clear on a P.A., 100% prepared quickly and are both hot and definitely fresh when received. Right on Emmons Ave with their own parking lot. N.Y. strip steak with the cheez on their rolls they make fresh, wow. Gonna come back for sure and try the roast beef next time.
September 01 · Fct 8306 On Two WheelsBeen coming here for 2 decades and I’m finally posting a review. I hadn’t been here since pre Covid 2020 so I was pleased to see the prices weren’t much higher. I think maybe only $1 more per menu item which isn’t bad considering some places are 50%+ more. The size and quality has remained the same which is most important.I got a Cheez burger, sweet potato fries, corn fritters, carrot cake and orangeade for a total of $28 including tax. The menu says you can order the burger well done or medium, but I already knew what I wanted so I ordered without looking at the menu first and forgot to specify; I believe they cook it well done by default and the cashier didn’t ask me. So make sure you ask for medium if that’s what you prefer.
June 08 · Joseph ARoller Roaster – A Brooklyn Classic That Still Hits Every TimeI’ve been coming to Roller Roaster for over 30 years, and let me tell you—some things really do get better with time. Tucked along Emmons Avenue, this gem has been a staple in my life for decades, and last night’s dinner reminded me exactly why.My go-to? The roast beef sandwich, double dipped. The juiciness is unmatched—the kind of melt-in-your-mouth tender that only comes from years of doing it right. The gravy is savory and rich, coating the beef and roll in perfection. And oh, the rolls—sometimes they’re covered in sesame seeds, sometimes not as much, but that’s part of the charm. Every bite is a little surprise, and every time it’s delicious.I paired it with baked sweet potato, butter and brown sugar homemade fried potato chips with cheese, and that iconic fresh orange ade—real citrus, real flavor, no shortcuts. Me and my son drove half an hour just for these sandwiches, and not a single second was wasted. The vibe is nostalgic but timeless. Whether you grew up in Brooklyn or you’re discovering this spot for the first time, Roller Roaster delivers with flavor, consistency, and that feeling of something special. It’s more than a sandwich—it’s a tradition.Five stars, every time. Forever my favorite.
