When visiting Safta’s Coffee & Fine Foods, you're faced with a menu of delicious choices, but some items are a must-try. For an authentic and satisfying experience, start with a classic. The Classic Bagel & Lox is a staple, but the Tuna Salad Bagel and Pastrami Russ Bagel are also highly recommended for a savory and filling meal. A standout is the Za'atar Avocado Bagel, which combines a unique Middle Eastern spice blend with a creamy and fresh avocado spread, making for a perfect light meal.
The coffee menu also features some great choices. While the classic espresso drinks like a Cappuccino or Latte are always a good call, it's the specialty drinks that really shine. The Honey Lavender Latte offers a floral and sweet twist on a traditional latte, while the Rose Cardamom Latte is an aromatic and uniquely flavorful beverage. For a cold option, the Nitro Cold Brew is a fantastic choice, providing a smooth and rich coffee experience. For dessert or a quick treat, the Chocolate Rugelach is a classic, but don't overlook their other pastries and soft serve. What is ultimately worth choosing at Safta’s is a combination of their freshly baked goods and their unique Middle Eastern-inspired flavors, as this is where the cafe truly sets itself apart and offers a memorable taste of its unique culinary heritage.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This would’ve easily been a 5 star rating, but there was a mistake made by the staff that made the experience less than ideal. Basically they over charged me in a sneaky way. I bought the classic soft serve (size medium) that was $6. At the cashier counter I told the staff I got the medium classic, emphasizing medium since there are two sizes. She went ahead and charged me for the larger size without me knowing. After realizing I got over charged, I asked her if the toppings costed extra. The manager stepped in and asked me what the issue was. He gave me what seemed like a half-hearted apology and refunded the difference. It was NOT a pleasant experience. Look I get it, times are tough, economy is not doing great and the business looked slow there, but that doesn’t mean you can over charge a customer for an at-best-average dessert. I was looking forward to bringing friends there to try the soft serve, but no longer. They just lost future business. Please do better.
July 14 · Kevin KimThis kosher café and bakery is the kind of neighborhood spot that instantly draws you in with the smell of freshly baked bread, warm pastries, and rich coffee. We tried the egg and cheese on a bagel, and it was a perfect balance of chewy, buttery, and melty goodness – total comfort food. The yogurt and labneh bowls are another highlight, especially the halva crunch, layered with Greek yogurt and nutty, sweet halva for an amazing mix of flavors and textures.
September 02 · Cheryl PinkSuch a cute new spot on the UWS. Safta, which means grandmother in Hebrew, serves great bagel sandwiches, pastries, bowls and Israeli snacks. Definitely check them out!

April 09 · Boaz Sed⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Grateful to have a kosher café like Saftas in the Upper West Side. The menu has a solid range of options with some fun Middle Eastern touches, and the space has a warm, inviting feel. The tahini rice crispy treat is a hit here! It’s the kind of place you want to root for, and I’m excited to see how it grows. Definitely worth checking out if you’re nearby.
