## What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Sammy’s New York Bagels is fundamentally about prioritizing the quest for an authentic, locally-made New York bagel. In the competitive landscape of the New York metro area, a truly good bagel—baked with the right texture and taste—is a coveted commodity, and this is where Sammy’s is reported to excel, with long-time customers acknowledging the superior quality of the bagel itself.
What makes Sammy’s worth choosing, particularly for those new to the neighborhood, is the efficiency and accessibility of getting that crucial morning meal. The options for takeout, in-store pickup, and delivery ensure that even on the busiest mornings, you can secure your breakfast without a significant detour or delay. For a speedy start to your day, the "quick visit" model is invaluable.
However, users should be mindful of the operational transparency noted in customer feedback. It is advisable to inquire about the full price of any bagel and spread combination before completing your order, as costs for spreads (like butter or cream cheese) can significantly increase the final price. Additionally, if a generous portion of cream cheese is your preference, consider requesting "extra" when placing your order, as the standard "smear" has been noted to be quite minimal.
In summary, choose Sammy's if you are in the New Rochelle area and:
- You value the authentic taste and quality of a traditional New York bagel above all else.
- You require an extremely efficient, quick visit for your morning meal.
- You utilize the convenience of delivery or easy in-store pickup.
While the transactional aspects require an informed customer approach, the foundation of the business—the quality of the bagel—is what makes Sammy’s New York Bagels a consistent and relevant option in the Westchester breakfast scene.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Maybe I should have read the reviews first but am new to the neighborhood and was looking for a breakfast bagel place. Neighbors recommended this Sanmy's. So I arrived with high expectations and optimism to be quickly shocked with a lack of transparency on prices and my buttered bagel ended up costing $4.00!!!! NYC prices in the burbs? Let's break it down ...the price of the bagel was on the board $1.80. That seemed reasonable. Then asked for butter and a tad of extra. After all, they are never generous. Then the sticker shock....was expecting $2.50....maybe $3.00 with extra butter but $4.00? Well she said, it's $1.20 for the first butter swab and $1.00 thereafter. When the price of slivers of butter is more than the bagel, there's a problem. I felt violated and blamed myself for assuming reasonable prices. Besides, their bagels are SMALL on top of that. Buyer beware....guards up now. Off to search for a better place I can go to every day that won't rip me off. No customer service whatsoever. Lesson learned. Look for another place.....it can only go up from here.
July 08 · Belle RioWe are so disappointed! We've been coming here for years and they have always been so good. Is there a new owner? I'm trying to understand the change. We went in this morning to grab a couple of bagels with cream cheese. In the past I used to have to take some cream cheese out they used to load it up. This time we barely got a smear. We got 2 bagels with cream cheese and a muffin for $11!!!! And this is what we got?The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the bagels themselves are still very good. I could always go in and buy them plain but I don't appreciate getting ripped off.
May 03 · Stephanie CiacciI had to take the time this morning to write a review on this place. Not only was I charged $ 9.95 for this plain bagel with egg whites,Swiss ,avocado, and home fries but when I got home to eat it , it looked this this!. Sloppy with avocado that looked like it could possibly get you sick. I actually had them banned for over a year because they kept getting my orders wrong but I figured I give the a chance and I was disappointed like always.! I hope the owner sees this and speaks to his workers. I don’t care about the price but at least make you food like if you were the one eating it.
December 23 · G FuerteLove that they make the bagels fresh every single morning. I’ve been a customer here for a couple years now and I’ve never been disappointed with my orders. The ladies who work there make my day with how happy they look to see me and chat with me. Cash only definitely makes it less convenient, but they’ve got an ATM right there and it’s worth the minor trouble. Anyone who says the food is pricey has no clue what they’re talking about - average sandwich is like 7-8 dollars. That’s far cheaper than what you’d get in NYC which is like 20 minutes away, especially for the quality. I’ve only sat to eat a couple times, but it’s about what you’d expect from a small bagel place. It’s not the best for a proper sit down meal, but it feels cozy in there and I’ve struck up conversations with other customers a few times. All in all, this place is a must try, you’ll get addicted to those bagels, they must have some secret formula.
