★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday and we had a great time! It was her first omakase experience and she really enjoyed it. The fish was so fresh and the flavor combinations were so thoughtful , and the staff was really nice! It’s a great space with plenty of counter seating. A really great spot for special occasions.
September 12 · Adriana MedinaMy partner and I celebrated our anniversary here and it was such a wonderful and memorable experience. This was also my first time having Omakase! The food was outstanding and the whole time my partner and I talked to the chef preparing our food. The ambiance and environment didn’t even feel like a restaurant, and more as if we were at home -relaxed and comfortable. Each dish was completely different and so reasonably priced for NYC omakase. My partner had put down that we were celebrating our anniversary, so they made us a mini sushi cake in celebration which was so sweet. This is one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had and I know I will remember it forever! (Make sure to bring your own alcohol if you’d like! They will store it and ask you when you want it as well).
August 20 · IlyasWe celebrated our anniversary at this amazing omakase spot today, and it was such a memorable experience.Every piece of fish was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The staff were so friendly and welcoming — they even surprised us with a little anniversary treat, which made it extra special. Some of my favorite pieces were the salmon with foie gras, otoro with caviar, ebi with uni, and the A5 wagyu with uni hand roll — absolutely melt in your mouth delicious.I ended up ordering a few extra pieces because everything was just that good. The price was also surprisingly great for the quality. Another big plus it’s BYOB with no corkage fee! The staff even chilled our champagne and poured it for us throughout the meal, which I really appreciated. The place itself is cute and cozy, with a vibe that feels like a traditional Japanese restaurant. Highly recommend! And we’ll definitely be back for sure!🤍
May 28 · Mimi ColemanSTOP reading my review, go book this wonderful gem of a place, then come back and read on! We went as a family, nearly everyone agreed it's the best Japanese they've ever been to, myself included! Every dish was cut to prepared to perfection, with the fatty tuna topping them all. You get 13 Omakase bites for $68 which is a pretty good deal considering the quality. And there's no corkage fee, and they chilled out sake for us prior to the meal so that was nice. Staff is friendly and the chef was willing to make changes for one of our guests that didn't like eel. They limit the experience to an hour but honestly an hour is enough - as soon as you sit down it's very efficient. At no time did we feel rushed, and they offered to prepare additional dishes after the Omakase experience was done, in case we wanted to continue dining.I can't recommend enough - go and post your thoughts here.
April 19 · Amir HermelinWe had great time at Shinzo. The chef was very welcome about questions and he offered free test of Shima-aji when he found out about my name. The saki experience was also great though I don’t suggest the beer menu. The 69$ tasting course was so good that we did another shared round! Can’t wait too be in Shinzo Omakase soon.
