In a city where dining options are endless, finding a place that truly prioritizes health, quality, and flavor can feel like a search for a hidden gem. This health food, organic, and gluten-free restaurant has carved out a special place for itself by offering wholesome, nourishing meals that don’t compromise on taste. It's a go-to spot for New Yorkers who are health-conscious but still crave satisfying, delicious food. The core of their philosophy revolves around real, simple ingredients, with a particular focus on the restorative power of bone broth, which serves as the foundation for many of their dishes.
Springbone Kitchen has a casual and cozy atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a quick and convenient meal. It’s an especially popular choice for solo dining, with an inviting environment that’s perfect for a lunch break, a pre-class meal, or a simple dinner. The crowd often includes college students from the nearby universities, drawn in by the combination of healthy options, quick service, and a comfortable setting. The menu is thoughtfully designed to cater to various dietary needs, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options available alongside their signature meat and bone broth dishes.
The restaurant’s commitment to healthy, organic dishes is evident in every item on the menu. From their nutrient-dense bowls to their signature broths and soups, every offering is crafted with wellness in mind. This is not just a place to eat; it’s a place to refuel and feel good about what you’re consuming. The reputation for “wholesome and nurturing food goodness” is well-earned, as highlighted by a customer review that praised their bone broth for straightening up any "under the weather" feelings. This focus on food as a form of nourishment, rather than just fuel, is what truly sets Springbone Kitchen apart in a city full of fast-casual options.

What is worth choosing
Springbone Kitchen's menu is full of worthwhile choices, but a few items stand out as must-tries for both first-time visitors and regulars. The Bowls are the star of the show. The Grandma's Chicken & Rice is a comforting classic that feels both nostalgic and healthy, while the Honey Dijon Salmon and Grass-Fed Beef Picadillo are excellent protein-rich options. For a vegetarian or vegan option, the Chili Tofu Noodle Bowl is a popular choice that’s packed with flavor. The "Build Your Own" option is also fantastic, allowing you to customize your meal and get exactly what you want from a wide array of ingredients.
Of course, a visit to Springbone isn't complete without trying their famous Bone Broth. Options like the Immunity Broth and Liquid Gold are praised for their incredible taste and nourishing properties. A customer review highlighted that the broth "straightens- up any 'under the weather' feelings," which speaks to its quality and perceived health benefits. The broths can be enjoyed as a cup or purchased in frozen jars to take home.
For sides, the Lemon Garlic Broccoli and Roasted Sweet Potatoes are delicious and healthy additions to any meal. And for a quick bite or dessert, the Chocolate Chip Cookies and Dark Chocolate Brownies are surprisingly good, given the restaurant’s focus on health. The menu also includes a variety of healthy drinks and smoothies. While one negative review mentioned a less-than-stellar experience, the overwhelming public data points to a consistently positive experience, with customers praising the menu’s creativity and health-focused approach. Springbone Kitchen is a prime example of a restaurant that has successfully made healthy eating both easy and incredibly tasty, making it a truly worthwhile choice for anyone in the New York City area.

Springbone Kitchen Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Nasty. First time and last time. Chicken is mostly dark meat. Just has a gross taste. Brussels seem blackened…I guess. Sweet potatoes are undercooked. Bone broth rice seems catch/trendy but not tasty. Pickled items are pickled. I navigated the bowl to eat the rice, Brussels and pickled items. Mainly bc I spent so much on this nasty lunch. Butternut squash soup very meh as well. Portion is decent but inedible…for me.
May 20 · J NBest wholesome and nurturing bowl of food goodness. Their bone broth straightens- up any “under the weather” feelings. Would be nice to see some freshly chopped herb add-ons in the future such as mint, coriander, basil etc
April 18 · Alexa PapShould have read recent reviews. Order was clearly made with old food, stale chicken and brown guac. Restaurant didn’t pick up phone to fix issue. Clearly has gone down hill in recent years, it’s very sad.
July 06 · Julia AlexaUPDATE: the owner has since advised he’s retrained his staff to not dispense the broth after it gets down to a certain level - this should eliminate the grease problem. I’ve since had both the chicken and beef and it’s clean and not greasy. Thank you for righting your ship!+++Let me state up front the food is great in the healthy hearty bowl space (though I wish they’d hold off making practically everything spicy) - but I’m giving 1 star to flag an issue with the bone broth. It’s not defatted—for non-keto people you’re consuming a MASSIVE amount of saturated fat and cholesterol in every cup (see photos). After sipping the chicken broth and noticing the greasy feel on my palate, I took it home to refrigerate overnight as a test. Sure enough, look at the thick layer of grease on top (see photos).Springbone should invest in a stock dispenser that draws from the bottom (like a watering can) so the fat floating on the top stays separate from the stock. It’s not perfect (as the fat won’t separate as cleanly under heat), but it’s better than this. Or, chill, defat and reheat. I know it’s an extra step, but if you build your brand on bone broth it should be done right.
January 07 · Sonia HalfnerEarl is the GOAT! Good, nice people deserve recognition in this city. I get springbone at least 1-2x a week and the food is consistently fresh and high quality. Thanks so much!
