What is Worth Choosing
When visiting St Best Jerk Spot, the menu offers a wealth of Caribbean comfort food, but a few dishes consistently stand out in the public eye as essential choices for a first-time visitor or a returning regular.
Undoubtedly, the most popular and signature offering is the Jerk Chicken. It is the namesake of the spot and is widely regarded as a must-try. Although some individual reviews mention a potential for dryness, the overall popularity and its status as a most-ordered item suggest the flavor profile is strong and a significant draw. It can be ordered as a Mini Lunch Special for a smaller, value-oriented portion or as a full Lunch and Dinner plate, typically served with Rice and Peas and steamed vegetables. The homemade sweet or hot sauce that accompanies the jerk chicken is part of the experience.
Another top-tier recommendation is the Oxtail. This slow-cooked, rich, and tender dish is a cornerstone of Jamaican cuisine and is listed as a popular choice on their menu. Oxtail is known for its deep, savory flavor, and when prepared well, is a true indulgence. At St Best Jerk Spot, it is offered as a full meal, promising a satisfying and flavorful experience.
For a traditional Jamaican breakfast, the Ackee and Saltfish is the national dish of Jamaica and a celebrated item on the menu. While some experiences with portion sizes may vary, this dish, served with provisions, represents an authentic way to start the day. Alternatively, other protein-and-provision breakfasts like Saltfish with Okra or various cuts of meat (Kidney, Liver) are worth exploring for those who appreciate a hearty morning meal.
Beyond the main dishes, don't overlook the soups. The rotating soups are a daily highlight, with the Red Peas Soup on Thursdays frequently highlighted by customers for its delicious, traditional flavor. Soup in the Caribbean is a hearty, filling meal in itself, often containing dumplings and provisions.
Finally, the beverage selection should not be ignored. Customer commentary specifically praises the fresh, cool options like the Cucumber Juice and the assorted tropical juice nectars (like Soursop or Guava Pineapple). These refreshing drinks provide the perfect, cooling counterpoint to the spicy heat of the jerk or peppered dishes.
In summary, St Best Jerk Spot is a classic Queens spot for Jamaican food. It delivers an array of traditional, substantial meals that are available for a quick pickup or delivery throughout the day. While service experiences can be mixed in any busy New York establishment, the enduring quality and authentic flavor of core dishes like the Jerk Chicken and Oxtail make this Cambria Heights location a reliable option for a taste of the Caribbean.

June 04 · Michelle HuntThey did not have much food left for breakfast, but the fried dumplings 😋 they were good. They had Tropical Rhythm Soursop Juice Nectar and Guava Pineapple Juice Nectar and boy they were so refreshing and tasty.
May 08 · Andrea “Dre'a” CampbellI am so very disappointed with the service and meals from this place. Most of the Servers are unpleasant. Always looking perturbed and giving attitude as soon as you step into the restaurant. There's only one Server that is really pleasant and nice to customers. Today I purchased a large Ackee and salt fish (my favourite dish) because I was planning to have some for lunch and leave the rest for dinner. I was so disappointed when i actually got to work and saw what was inside the container. The plate had an adequate amount of ground provision and dumpling but there was hardly any Ackee and Saltfish at all. The dish cost over $17. I do not plan on coming back to this restaurant because they do not give you your money's worth.
August 15 · Joan ClarkeI ordered the sweet and sour chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. It was very tasty. The cabbage could have been seasoned a little more. I would recommend this place for a quick and tasty meal!
March 01 · Olivia Lewis-LesleyJerk chicken and pork is dried out. Really disappointed because the taste is good but can't eat it it. They need to check the food before selling it. The soup has no taste and is salty.
