Sushi Saikou Introduce
Tucked away on Elizabeth Street in the vibrant NoHo neighborhood, Sushi Saikou offers a premier sushi experience that feels both exclusive and welcoming. In a city saturated with sushi options, this restaurant has carved out a special niche for itself by focusing on a high-quality, chef-selected omakase menu. This is not your average grab-and-go sushi spot; it’s a destination for a thoughtful, memorable dining experience. The atmosphere is described as cozy and trendy, creating the perfect backdrop for a special evening out, whether you're celebrating a milestone or simply treating yourself to an extraordinary meal. The focus here is on the artistry of sushi-making, with each piece presented as a small, edible work of art.
The core of Sushi Saikou’s appeal lies in its commitment to a top-notch omakase experience. "Omakase" is Japanese for "I'll leave it up to you," and at Sushi Saikou, this means putting your trust in the chef to guide you through a curated tasting menu of the day's freshest and most exceptional ingredients. This approach ensures that every diner receives a truly unique and high-quality culinary journey. The menu is a rotating showcase of seasonal and premium fish, from classic favorites to more exotic selections like Kinmadai and Shima Aji. The experience is praised by customers for its incredible food quality and presentation, with fresh cuts and perfectly balanced flavors being a consistent highlight. While some patrons have noted that the dining period can feel a bit rushed, the overall consensus is that the quality and taste of the food are well worth the price.
Beyond the sushi itself, Sushi Saikou offers a refined beverage selection to complement the meal. The drinks menu includes a carefully chosen list of Japanese sakes, categorized by type such as Junmai, Ginjo, and Daiginjo, with some highly sought-after options like Dassai 23. The selection also includes beer, champagne, and wine, ensuring a perfect pairing for every course. For non-alcoholic options, they provide bottled and sparkling water, as well as a refreshing Yuzu Soda. This attention to detail in the beverage program reinforces the restaurant's commitment to a complete and premium dining experience. The menu also includes high-end delicacies like Toro, Uni, and the luxurious Miyazski A5 Wagyu, showcasing the restaurant's dedication to using only the finest ingredients.
Given its intimate size and focus on a curated experience, dinner reservations are highly recommended at Sushi Saikou. This is a place where you plan ahead to secure your spot for a special evening. The staff is known for being incredibly accommodating, and their customer service contributes significantly to the overall positive dining experience. This is a fantastic option for solo diners who appreciate the art of omakase or couples looking for a romantic and sophisticated night out. While the price point reflects the high quality of the ingredients and expertise of the chefs, customers feel it offers an incredible value for the level of dining provided. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Incredible dining experience! Just wish it was a bit longer. We made a very last minute dining reservation (about 30min before) and was so impressed by the customer service and food quality + taste.Everything was SO good, the menu is incredible, especially for the price point.Took 1 star away only because of 1 reason: the dining period is too short, we had a $350+ bill and felt rushed to exit the dining experience and finish our sake in the waiting area. Really wish we had at least another 15-20 min to finish our drinks in the same area after dining.
August 10 · Lida MHad a great omakase experience at Sushi Saikou! The quality and presentation of each course were top-notch—fresh cuts, balanced flavors, and a smooth flow from start to finish. Everything was spot-on except for the uni, which didn’t quite hit the mark for me—slightly off in texture and flavor compared to the rest of the stellar lineup. Still, would definitely recommend for a memorable sushi night!
June 08 · Aleli NaAmazing omakase spot for an interactive, intimate experience. Everything from the service to the flavor profile and quality of each course was top notch. Once of my new favorite spots in the city! Also, the salmon was arguably the best salmon nigiri I’ve had. 10/10!!
July 25 · Sophie PapaHonestly, perfection.Very nice and super friendly staff and chef. Quality of the food was super fresh and yummy.Wasnt expecting a special dish to be added because all i wanted was “i love you” to be written on my dessert plate. Honestly, i loved it. Made my anniversary even more memorable.Thank you guys. 100% would recommend.$125 for 17 courses worth!
May 11 · Jason YiuAmazing Omakase experience. Many of the pieces are unique and have flavors I have never tried before. I would say the best part were the conversations we had with the chef. He explained to us how he selected different pieces and designed the menu. I highly recommend it (and be on time)!
