Raf's Introduce
In the ever-evolving and highly competitive New York City dining scene, a restaurant that can maintain a sense of intimacy and specialness while garnering widespread acclaim is a rare find. Raf's, located in the heart of NoHo, is a prime example of such a place. It's a culinary haven that seamlessly blends the rustic charm of a European-style bakery with the sophisticated allure of a top-tier restaurant. From the team behind the Michelin-starred The Musket Room, Raf's has quickly earned a reputation for its impeccable food, beautiful design, and an atmosphere that feels both casual and upscale. It’s a restaurant that has been named to prestigious lists, like the New York Times’ “best 100,” and yet still feels like a neighborhood gem—a place where you can feel at ease whether you're celebrating a milestone or just stopping in for a coffee and a pastry.
The overview of Raf's reveals a place that is more than just a restaurant; it’s a full-day culinary experience. By day, it functions as a bakery and café, offering freshly baked goods and coffee. By night, it transforms into an intimate dining room with a menu centered around a historic, wood-fired oven. The dual identity of the space—a French-Italian restaurant and bakery—is what makes it so unique. It’s a popular destination for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, and is celebrated for its ability to deliver both comfort and excitement through its thoughtfully executed dishes. The fact that it still feels "special and intimate" to a frequent visitor, even after being one of the most talked-about spots in the city, speaks to its enduring appeal.

The restaurant is easily accessible by public transportation. The nearby R and W trains at Prince Street and the 6 train at Spring Street are all within a short walking distance. Its location in NoHo, just a stone's throw from SoHo and the Lower East Side, makes it a convenient meeting spot for people coming from different parts of Manhattan. The beautifully restored storefront with its deep red hue and hand-foiled gold lettering pays homage to the building's history as a century-old bakery, adding to the allure and accessibility of the space for those exploring the area. The restaurant also provides wheelchair-accessible restrooms and seating, ensuring it is a welcoming space for all patrons.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1One of my best brunch experiences in NYC. On NY times best 100 list, and the food was great. The dry-aged burger was delicious, super cheese with loads of sesame in the bun and fresh tarragon. It was my new favorite burger in the city, just edging out Lord’s and Au Cheval. The specialty croissant was unique, and delicious - definitely something I’d get again! The eggs in purgatory was good, but probably we would spice things differently. The dessert was incredible - I strongly suggest you leave room for dessert or just make it happen if you have to. A delightful and memorable meal, we will be back for a special occasion again soon.
June 16 · Blake RasmussenRafs continues to impress me every time I visit. Once the most talked-about spot of 2023, it still manages to feel special and intimate, and I have been lucky enough to find a seat at the bar several times this summer.I always begin with a glass of Lambrusco, and the tuna tartare is a dish I insist on ordering in any form it appears on the menu. It is layered with flavor and one I think about long after leaving. The salads are consistently balanced and beautifully dressed, and every item I have tried has been thoughtfully executed. Most recently I ordered the crab and corn ravioli, which is not a dish I would usually choose, yet it was a delightful surprise.Rafs is a restaurant that delivers both excitement and comfort, and one I hope remains just under the radar so I can continue to return often.
September 08 · Hannah BartchWe got the Sungold Mafaldine, Corn & Crab Ravioli, and Opera Cake for dessert. Everything was delicious! One of my top Italian spots to recommend. My only word of advice is to eat the pasta as soon as possible as it gets cold quickly — and then it won’t be as good.
August 30 · Alice KEnjoyed my Easter brunch at @rafsnewyork ! Their pastries are on the sweeter and heavier side for me, but I did enjoy both the pasta and the omelette. The omelette was light and delicate, while the pasta was surprisingly spicy 🌶️
April 23 · VickiRafs delivered a great dining experience from start to finish. The standout dish was the salsa verde half chicken—flavorful, juicy, and perfectly balanced. The leeks, tender and topped with creamy ricotta and crunchy nuts, were another highlight. We also enjoyed the creamy arancini and the spaghetti, which was my personal favorite—simple yet deeply satisfying. The space itself is beautifully decorated, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere where guests truly felt like they were having a good time. The food is on the pricier side, but hey—it’s 2025. Worth it for a special night out.
