SweeetShop Introduce
For residents of Irvington and the wider New Jersey area craving a hearty, comforting start to their day, SweeetShop is a breakfast and brunch destination that has cultivated a strong, loyal local following. Operating primarily as a focused **Breakfast restaurant**, it has become renowned for its specific take on Southern-inspired comfort foods and classic morning staples. The atmosphere is firmly **Casual**, reflecting its status as a neighborhood spot where the quality of the food is the main draw.
The restaurant’s reputation is largely built around one standout item: the **cheese grits**. Multiple sources, including enthusiastic customer reviews, proclaim that SweeetShop offers "the best cheese grits around." This dedication to high-quality, flavorful execution of a classic comfort dish extends throughout the menu, which includes staples like omelets, **beef sausage**, **home fries**, and lunch sandwiches. The offerings clearly cater to those seeking substantial, satisfying meals to power their day.
The dining experience at SweeetShop is tailored for convenience, featuring both **Takeout** and the option for **Dine-in**, though it’s important for local patrons to note that the dine-in status can sometimes be temporarily restricted, and calling ahead for takeout is a recommended strategy. Despite the possibility of a "long wait" during peak times—a common sign of a highly popular local establishment—customers agree that the delicious food is "definitely worth it." The menu goes beyond standard fare, offering items like Cheesy Grits Empanadas, **Cajun Shrimp & Grits**, and **Salmon Cake Drops**, showcasing a creative flair within the comfort food genre.

The appeal of SweeetShop lies in its commitment to key flavor profiles and local favorite dishes, setting it apart as a specialized **breakfast restaurant** in the New Jersey dining scene.
- The Best Cheese Grits: This is the signature highlight. Customers consistently rave about the grits, noting they are the "best around," an accolade that speaks to the quality of their most famous dish. The menu expands on this with unique variations like **Cajun Shrimp & Grits** and **Cheesy Grits Empanadas**.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1They have the best cheese grits around! I've had omletes, beef sausage, home fries and lunch sandwiches. I have never been disappointed by any item on the menu. I recommend calling ahead to pick up your order. Sometimes there can be a long wait but it is definitely worth it.
October 08 · Sophia BertrandI’m very honest with my reviews so this is how I feel about this place. Me and my boyfriend came and spend about $50. We came in thinking we can Dine in because based off google it says you can. However, they have signs on the tables saying no dine in. The lady at the counter was constantly rubbing/ blowing her nose with a napkin while simultaneously bagging food 😷. Now to the actual food, literally everything is frozen except the eggs. I ordered waffles, pork sausage, and eggs. My waffle was so soft and soggy, they just threw the frozen waffle onto the griddle and warmed it up. The pork sausage was a frozen patty like what they give you at middle school breakfast. The egg was the only thing they cooked, with yellow American cheese. I will not be back, I’d rather go to Original Pancake House. My boyfriend got steak, again a flat frozen piece of steak that they season a little bit, don’t even slice and then serve. He also got the bacon egg and cheese which is what in my opinion is probably the safest thing to get if you don’t want a bunch of frozen stuff. He also got the french toast. All in all, My boyfriend liked it, but I know quality food and this aint it 🤦🏾♀️.Like if this was helpful.Subscribe to my Youtube Channel Please: Safiya Lin
April 25 · Safiya LinI’ve been coming here for years. Lots of food for the price point and one of my favorite breakfast places. Call ahead to place orders because they get very busy and can be a bit of a wait.
November 12 · Rachel RThis is the best breakfast spot around but you have to catch it before it close. They close early but how good they food is, it’s definitely not a problem. I’m mad you still can’t done in, COVID, duh. All in all they don’t miss!!!
December 20 · Kash HamThe food is ok...but check your food before you take out. I paid for extra beef bacon and got 3 tiny burnt strips of bacon. I havent been back since....you get a better deal at the bagel place on stuyvesant across from quick check in union. You try to give black people a chance and they do it to you every time!
