What is Worth Choosing
To fully experience the charm and flavor of Taste Of The Town Diner, there are several items and categories that are highly recommended based on the establishment’s reputation and specialty offerings. The restaurant excels in providing uncomplicated, well-made comfort food that hits the spot every time.
First and foremost, you should explore the Specialty Sandwiches. The named sandwiches are crafted with unique flavor combinations that reflect classic New York deli culture. The New Yorker, a tribute to classic corned beef, or the Waltoni, with its mix of roast beef, horseradish, and cheeses, are highly recommended choices. For a lighter, yet still flavorful option, consider one of the Roll Ups, such as the Santa Fe with all-white meat chicken breast and avocado, or the holiday-flavored Cape Codder.
Another essential part of the experience is the Daily Soup. With a rotating schedule that ensures variety, pairing a half-sandwich with a cup of the day’s offering—be it the creamy Clam Chowder on a Monday or the distinctive Hungarian Mushroom on a Thursday—is a perfect, affordable lunch. The soups are hearty, providing that quintessential comfort food warmth, a necessity during cooler New York months.
Finally, given the explicit highlight, don't miss the Great Coffee. Starting your morning or punctuating your lunch with a cup of their celebrated brew is part of the traditional diner experience that Taste Of The Town perfects. It is also an excellent choice for a quick bite or solo dining, offering classic, hearty meals like breakfast plates or small plates that are popular for their consistency and low cost.
The diner is an ideal choice for the budget-savvy New Yorker who values a great meal and friendly service over flashy decor. Its dedication to classic diner food and local-friendly pricing solidifies its position as a true Taste Of The Town experience in Richmond Hill.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This hole in the wall diner is amazing. I knew it was gonna be good when I walked in. The lady at the counter said, "You want coffee," instead of "Hello, welcome to..." Please don't sleep on this place. It's not much to look at, but it's really good and cheap food.
April 19 · Christopher MonroeI started coming here with my girl and I absolutely love the food it’s so cheap we used to go to classic dinners and we would end up spending like 60-70 lol so we come here it’s like 30$ JUST COME HERE GOOD EATS AND CHEAP
August 21 · Jonathan MarinI’ve been eating here since I was 8 years old. Im 24 now and the food is still amazing, with the best prices around town. Hopefully Manny and the Mrs hold this place down for a long time, a diner for the people indeed.
April 13 · Luis ParedesManny the owner/cook has been here for a long time and I’ve been getting breakfast and lunch here for over 10 years. Well-made food at excellent prices. Place is a bit cramped and paper plates and plastic tableware but saves money not having to pay for a dishwasher, and that savings gets passed to the customer. Also literally steps from the subway entrance for extra convenience.
