The Kati Roll Company Introduce
In the bustling and diverse culinary landscape of New York City, some establishments find their niche by specializing in one thing and doing it exceptionally well. The Kati Roll Company is a prime example. This renowned fast-food restaurant has become a local favorite for its singular focus on the kati roll, a savory and flavorful street food that originated in Kolkata, India. Unlike a traditional sit-down Indian restaurant with a sprawling menu, The Kati Roll Company offers a streamlined, efficient, and deeply authentic experience. It's a place that captures the essence of Indian street food—a quick, satisfying, and incredibly tasty bite that's perfect for a meal on the go.
The concept is simple: a warm, hand-rolled flatbread—either the traditional paratha or a lighter roti—is filled with a variety of delicious fillings, from spiced potatoes and chickpeas to tender chicken tikka and savory minced lamb. This no-frills approach allows the kitchen to perfect each roll, ensuring the flavors are vibrant and the ingredients are fresh. The atmosphere is casual and trendy, with Bollywood posters adorning the walls, adding to the authentic Indian vibe. It’s a small space, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in character and flavor. For a city that thrives on convenience and quality, The Kati Roll Company delivers a unique dining option that feels both special and refreshingly simple.
The Kati Roll Company is situated at 99 MacDougal St, New York, NY 10012, USA, in the heart of Greenwich Village. This location is a hub of activity, with a mix of students, tourists, and local residents bustling about. Its proximity to New York University (NYU) makes it a popular spot for college students looking for an affordable, flavorful, and fast meal. For those visiting or working in the area, the restaurant is easily accessible by public transportation. The West 4th Street – Washington Square station, serving the A, C, E, B, D, F, and M subway lines, is just a short walk away. The Christopher Street – Sheridan Square station on the 1 train is also conveniently located.
The street itself, MacDougal Street, is famous for its vibrant energy, lined with various eateries, cafes, and bars. The lively atmosphere adds to the experience of grabbing a quick bite and soaking in the Greenwich Village scene. For those arriving by car, street parking is available, but as is common in this busy part of the city, finding a spot can be challenging. The restaurant is well-known for its role as a late-night food destination, catering to the city that never sleeps and offering a perfect, comforting bite after a night out.
The Kati Roll Company focuses on providing fast and convenient service, with options that cater to different dining preferences.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A good place for a quick bite. It has the flavors , taste and touch of India. Small place with couple of seating option. Take away is viable option for large group. Street parking and don’t expect to get slots . Prices are normal and staffs are friendly. Good Kati roll to try when you are in the area
August 25 · Prabha ShankarThis is a small, cute spot. The roll was flavorful and definitely worth the visit. I ended up trying it thanks to a friend’s recommendation and the fact that they accept InKind. I’d pop back in to try something else for sure.
July 03 · Takyashilah SLove this place. Usually can find seating even though it’s a small place. Lots of vintage Indian decor around and absolutely amazing vibes. People working there are chill and food is always reliable when you can’t decide what to eat. Definitely get anything spicy from here. There is a longish wait for food but worth it nonetheless. Definitely a place that deserves more love on macdougal. Have only visited in the day time and will be coming back later in the day to see if vibes are even better.
August 13 · June SerrmanThis was pretty tasty! I tried three different rolls:First was the Chicken Tikka Roll. It was fine, to be honest I didn’t really get any of the traditional tikka spice flavors… It just tasted like a grilled chicken wrap. Very good grilled chicken and a bit charred which I love, but I expected more here.Second was the Unda Paneer Roll. I really enjoyed this one. The paratha was layered with egg and the paneer was super soft and creamy, and had great spices!Third was the Aloo Masala Roll. This one was excellent, probably my favorite of the three! The potatoes were so smooth, had excellent flavor, and I loved every bite of it. I will say I opted for extra spice on this one and it really was not spicy so I wish that came through more.Overall, this is a great spot for a quick bite!
March 16 · Patrick ZajacThey’re coming here for over 10 years best food ever especially after a bar ask for some good drink drinks you come here and have some delicious Indian food. Try the chicken.
