★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Vibes are elite in this place! Very unsuspecting cafe, came in for some shelter from the rain and turned out to be the best ever. Barista is awesome, customers awesome too, had a lovely chat with them. Music is straight vibes too.A little out of the way, but perfect chill spot with great coffee :)
June 15 · Kaylyn MokAfter a long day skating at LES skatepark, I stumbled into The Monroe and couldn’t have picked a better spot to unwind. The Guinness was perfectly poured, the mushroom cheddar quiche hit the spot, and the chill vibes made it easy to relax. There’s a pool table if you’re looking to hang a bit longer, and the owner, Drew, is friendly and welcoming — makes you feel right at home. I’ll definitely be back soon.
July 08 · Ash Nealiswill take you to a chill, relax ambience and will detached you to the bustling and hassling city. Recommended for people who love to meet new people and enjoy the game board and billiards, have a cool beer and wine and light fare foods.
July 29 · Chef AugeeThe vibes are so good here for studying, the coffee is so amazing. The services is great, very lowkey and chill. The space is beautiful, and the owner is so nice. It’s a very low key spot, I don’t think they did any marketing. Prices are really good too!
March 15 · William Lin[The Monnroe] had their pre-Grand Opening event on Thursday evening, February 20th from 6:00-8:00 PM. Most of the attendees were part of an ongoing series of art lectures and sessions held in various locations across the city by the lead instructor. A group of New York based intellectuals and professionals from a wide range of disciplines who form these art classes. The interior space as described by its proprietor [Drew] said “We just opened tonight,” and described it as a newly renovated performance space within a Victorian-styled bar and cafe, which welcomes everyone. A truly great place. Innovative and with enough room to dance and disco if the furniture was rearranged for one. In close proximity to the local subway stations on the Lower Side of Chinatown’s up-and-coming East Broadway corridor, it will certainly add into its repertoire of real cool places of interest. Plus a new hangout for trendy bars and local artists.
