The Parkgate Introduce
Nestled on the iconic W 4th Street in the heart of Greenwich Village, The Parkgate stands out as a true neighborhood gem. This bar and gastropub has quickly become a favorite among New Yorkers seeking a spot that feels both trendy and genuinely local. It strikes a perfect balance—hip without being pretentious, offering a commitment to being a true "local watering hole," as one customer review noted. This dual identity makes it an ideal destination for a variety of occasions, whether you're meeting friends for a night out, grabbing a quick bite after work, or just looking for a cozy place to unwind on your own.
The Parkgate’s atmosphere is a key part of its appeal. It’s a place that feels comfortable and inviting from the moment you walk through the door. The casual and cozy ambiance, combined with a modern, stylish edge, creates a space where everyone feels welcome. It's the kind of spot where you can easily strike up a conversation with staff or fellow patrons, as one reviewer mentioned, highlighting the friendly energy on a Sunday visit. The Parkgate is not just a place to get a drink or a meal; it's a social hub where the community can connect. For those familiar with the neighborhood's history, the space holds a special significance—it's located in what was formerly The Slaughtered Lamb, a fact that gives it a bit of an old-school New York City vibe while presenting a completely new and improved look and feel.
The food and drink menu is a testament to the gastropub's commitment to quality. While many bars serve food as an afterthought, The Parkgate elevates classic pub fare with a focus on fresh, flavorful ingredients. This commitment to a higher standard of food, alongside an impressive beverage program, is what elevates The Parkgate above a typical bar. The fast and efficient service is another highlight, ensuring that whether you're there for a quick drink or a full meal, your needs are met promptly and professionally. The combination of great food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere is what has made The Parkgate a "new favorite spot" for many in the city.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A new favorite spot. Hip but not pretentious and a commitment to still being a local watering hole. Park Gate burger is one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. We will be back.
July 11 · John CottrellI happened to stop by to see a friend at this restaurant/bar. One of the people who worked here told me it was the old slaughtered lamb, one of the first bars I had a drink in nyc and I think was 16. Well it looks so different for the better. Just ordered the chicken fingers cause I Sheng eaten all day but they have to be the juiciest and crispiest at the same time. To be honest was just thinking I need some food but so pleasantly surprised. Btw it’s a Sunday and everyone here has been so friendly both customers and staff.
June 29 · Mathew ThomasOne of my go to spots to meet up with friends. The cocktails are great, food’s solid, and the service is always quick, even when it’s busy. The space has a warm, stylish vibe with cool wood details and great music. Crowd’s usually a good mix chill, mature, and fun. Just a consistently great place to spend a night out.
July 12 · Vinny PhanJust did a private event here in the basement for my birthday - such a great time! The room is the perfect atmosphere, felt very chic haha. Staff was super attentive and they let you play your own music too!
July 12 · Melanie AlbaneseNice place to hangout with friends. Music isn’t too loud and they have a decent number of bathrooms in the basement. The Aperol Spritz was awful but all of our other drinks were good.
