★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It knows how to set a scene. Dim lighting, lively patrons, and a cool Brooklyn energy, all soundtracked by '90s hip-hop. No reservations here, which means playing the waiting game. The move is to show up early, give your name, and find something to do until your table's ready. I ended up at the bar—probably the best seat in the house for a smaller party size. The tuna cracker didn’t win any presentation contests, but it was better than it looked—quality tuna, fresh avocado, a hit of jalapeño, and a crisp base. The beet salad followed with fresh beets, citrus, more avocado, and stracciatella tying it together. The agnolotti brought comforting flavors of brown butter, sage and walnuts. For a non-italian spot, it held its own. Then came the steak frites au poivre—the dish I was most excited for but the biggest letdown. The steak wasn’t the most tender, the fries were ordinary, and the sauce leaned too sweet, missing that peppery-creamy balance. Not inedible, just underwhelming. Both the mezcal margarita and tokyo old fashioned were strong and well-made, something to sip on and savor. This place shines as a cocktail-and-appetizers spot—maybe try the burger everyone raves about. The vibe never falters.
April 02 · yousefWow! What an amazing night at the Snail. Have been waiting to try and blew away my expectations! The food was perfect and had to try all the delicious items I’ve been seeing on Insta from the Chips and Ham (awesome), sprouts (crunchy and delicious), fresh bread and fennel butter (incredible), then the steak frites (perfectly cooked in a yummy sauce), THE BURGER (a must try even if you split as a side WOW!), the mushroom pasta ( perfectly cooked FRESH pasta yum), the carrots (so good with an amazing crunchy topping Onino), and FINALLY the warm delicious date cake with ice cream topped it all off!Service was incredible and SUPER friendly. We loved the ambiance and atmosphere where they paid attention to every detail from the music to lighting down to the candles on the bar. Can’t wait to go back!
April 21 · Rob CohenBurger was EXCELLENT. From the bun, to the condiments to the meat being perfectly cooked. This makes up for the overhyped boring burger I had at Rolo’s recently. This burger is worth the hype. They serve it at brunch too which was great. Fries and sticky toffee pudding were fantastic. Savory dishes err on saltier side but I didn’t mind at all. Didn’t love the Caesar salad, it was kind of bitter. We had an extremely nice server and the vibe is relaxing and airy. Would definitely go back.
July 06 · the bbSmall brunch menu but everything we tried was excellent. Cheeseburger, chips and ham, and the blue blueberry muffin were our favorites. Cocktails were very good too.
September 14 · Kurt TichyExcellent dining experience at The Snail. The beet salad was fresh and well dressed with olive oil and a creamy cheese. The scallop ceviche was 5 tasty bites and had a subtle unexpected kick of spice and tang. We were super pleased with the apps.We ordered the mushroom pasta and burger for mains and were blown away. Perfectly simple burger with thinly sliced pickles and a mustard sauce. The mushroom pasta was among the best pastas we’ve ever had in nyc.The date cake was a 10/10 - perfectly sweet and moist with a scoop of malt gelato. 💯💯💯💯💯Super kind and friendly service that left us in a good mood for hours after eating.Got in line at 4:45pm on a Friday and were sitting at the bar by 5:15.Top notch dining experience. Will be back again very soon!
