I had it for the first time in Harbin, China, when I visited my wife's hometown back in 2013. The taste of it still lingered in my mind.In the US, we would traveled all over (Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Edison, NJ), just so I would hope to find a restaurant that could replicate that taste from my memory. Taste of North China in Flushing came so close, that I am relieve now that the search is over.We came back for another taste just yesterday within 2 weeks. This is comfort food for me, with fond memories of Harbin, among 中央大街 Central Street, 老昌鍋烙 Old Chun Pot, 友誼大街 Friendship Road.Anyone who desires a taste of 鍋巴肉 Fried Pork must try it, and to agree with me and my assessment.

We tried a variety of dishes from fish to dumplings to vegetables and everything was well seasoned and well cooked. Highly recommend giving them a try!

It’s a bit pricier than cheap eats, but makes up in flavor and portion size. I would strongly recommend their double cooked pork, chongqing chicken, and pig trotters if you try them out.
