What Is Worth Choosing
For a New Yorker looking for an authentic and satisfying meal, WASAKAKA FRIED is a compelling choice, especially if you have a craving for high-quality, flavorful Dominican fried foods. The heart of the menu lies in the perfectly executed fried meats and starches that define the cuisine.
Start with the Pica Pollo, the quintessential Dominican fried chicken dish that is highly popular among patrons. It's often served with a portion of Tostones (Fried Plantains), which makes for a classic, filling meal. Another standout choice is the Chicharrón de Cerdo (Fried Pork Belly), praised for its crisp texture and rich flavor. If you're dining with others or simply have a huge appetite, the Medium or Large Mix Trays are an excellent value proposition, allowing you to sample a selection of popular fried meats like Salted Fried Beef, Dominican Sausage (Longaniza), and Fried Smoked Pork Chops (Chuleta Ahumada Frita). These trays are perfect for sharing the Caribbean feast experience.
Beyond the savory mains, the beverage selection is truly a highlight and worth choosing. Don’t miss out on the fresh, unique tropical juices like the highly recommended Jugo De Chinola (Passion Fruit Juice) or the creamy, iconic blend of the Morir Soñando (Milk and Orange Juice). These drinks offer a perfect, refreshing counterpoint to the rich, fried dishes.
Finally, for a distinct, quick-and-easy option, try the Yaroa De Pollo (Chicken Yaroa) or the Salchipapas, both excellent for a comforting, quick bite. While a few customer experiences suggest that direct delivery logistics can sometimes be inconsistent with distance, the overall quality and authenticity of the food itself, as indicated by the consistently high ratings for top dishes, make WASAKAKA FRIED a worthwhile and vibrant addition to Brooklyn’s diverse Latin American food scene. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I live a mile away from this restaurant they advertise that they offer delivery I called them yesterday to place a order Im 8 minutes away I called around 5:30 they guy that answered the phone told me to call back at 6 because that’s when the delivery person arrives I called at 6 the same guy answered and asked where was the delivery to when I told him the address he said they couldn’t deliver to my address because the motor couldn’t go past 10 minutes! I don’t know where he got that information from but even DoorDash people deliver with the same motorcycle to further places they just lazy, the reason I had called them directly it’s because I don’t have a card at the moment to place a order with a third party all I was craving was the pineapple juice because it’s really good I of course was going to place a order that made sense for them to deliver but it was a very unfortunate experience and they definitely lost a customer when I regularly order from them using third party apps
August 09 · Natalia LabordeI just ordered from Wasakaka fried. The delivery was fast the food was warm but man they gave me very small portions. We just ordered longaniza, chicharron, fried chicken batata and tostones. I Understand a restaurant must make profit but I was charged$38 for a half piece of lechon like 8 tiny pieces of longaniza, 4 pieces of very cheap chicken, and super thick batata. I gave the kid a $12 tip because we are really great neighbors and supporters of local small businesses.I highly recommend when you go to jetro that you buy the premium best quality chickenGive really nice big cuts of chicharron and cut your batata way more thin. You should poke holes in your plates so that you don't cook the lime and make your tostones soggy it's better to be known for good quality tasty well organized food and charge a little more for your service. Wow guys Wasakaka was a big let down. Lesson learned
