Windrose Introduce
In the heart of the West Village, where culinary innovation thrives, Windrose stands out as a sophisticated and laid-back destination for a truly unique dining experience. This is not your typical Korean barbecue spot; it's a Korean fusion bistro that artfully blends traditional flavors with modern techniques and global influences. The ambiance is what immediately sets it apart—soothing and modern, with a design that feels intimate enough for a romantic date night while remaining casual enough for a fun evening with friends. The décor, from the rock-walled bar to the cozy banquettes, creates a stylish and inviting space that makes you want to linger and savor every moment. It's a place where every detail, down to the perfect candle in the bathroom, has been meticulously considered to create a flawless experience.
The culinary philosophy at Windrose is to create dishes that are both creative and deeply delicious, often described as "edible art." The menu is a journey of flavors, with small plates designed for sharing, along with larger main courses. The team behind the restaurant, including executive chef Sung Park and chef de cuisine Cesar Jimenez, both alums of the renowned Jean Georges, brings a high level of expertise to the kitchen. This background is evident in the refined and complex flavors of each dish, such as the Wagyu Steak Tartare and the inventive Truffle Tteock & Cheese. Beyond the food, the cocktail program is just as creative, featuring unique Asian fusion drinks that are both visually stunning and incredibly delicious. Windrose is a place that promises an exciting and memorable night out, whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply treating yourself to a fantastic meal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I experienced Windrose with one of my girlfriends during its opening weekend and had one of the best meals of my life. That is not an exaggeration. Everything was spot on. The ambiance and decor is soothing and modern, laid back enough to hang out with friends but also nice enough to bring a date for a fancy dinner. Even the candle in the bathroom was perfect. Our waitress was awesome, hilarious and engaging. AND THE FOOD. > We tried as many things as possible and nothing disappointed. The cocktails are so creative and delicious. Who doesn't love a drink that smokes?! We had the fried anchovies, the mushroom and steak bibimbaps, and the truffle mac and cheese. Honestly, how has no one thought of putting gnocchi in mac and cheese before?? I'm so excited to eat it again. It was incredible. It's clear that a lot of work went into planning this menu because it's more like art than food. But definitely edible art! Highly, highly recommend this restaurant to anyone for anything - birthdays, dates, or just a night out. I can't wait to go back!
April 11 · Cassandra AgredoVery cute Korean fusion restaurant. Amazing wagyu steak burger and steak tartare. Will definitely come back for the waffle chicken that was sold out for the night and other Asian fusion cocktails.
April 08 · Sisi QiuThe salt and pepper wings were pretty good. The mushroom Bibimbap was excellent, perfectly done, excellent flavor. The chicken and waffle sandwich was delicious. The waffle was nicely sweetened and soft and chicken extra crispy.Alex the bar manager was very attentive and made wonderful drinks, tell him what flavors you like and he’ll whip up something special for you! This was my first time here and I’ll be back soon .
September 28 · Theary RosI will give Windrose 5 stars! The service was beyond outstanding from the beginning to the end. The Pork Belly Confit I ordered was delicious and the Red/Deathly Grove St. tasted really good for a non-alcoholic drink. Rachel (my server) made sure I was comfortable and kept on checking on me the entire time spent in the restaurant. The manager Filip was also very attentive not only with me, but with all the customers. I give them their well deserved 5 stars :)
July 14 · Leandro SantosCame here for a birthday dinner with a large group. Had high expectations but left somewhat dissapointed. They didn't have any chicken which is ubsurd as like a third of the menu was chicken based items. How hard is it to get emergency chicken in Manhattan. Also, the milk wash cocktail took more than 45minutes to make. They further had items on the menu that simply did not exist yet. Apparently those items will not be available until next week...So nearly half of the menu items were not available, which was sad as those items were the reason we picked the place. The disorganization made it seem like it just opened, but its been open for over a year. Otherwise its very expensive. The food itself was solid but not mind blowing. Nice ambience, service is slow.
