What is Worth Choosing
The menu at Ubani is a treasure trove of delicious Georgian dishes, with a wealth of options that are perfect for a vegetarian meal.
First and foremost, you must try a type of Khachapuri. The Adjaruli Khachapuri is a classic and iconic choice. It is a boat-shaped bread filled with a blend of melted cheese, butter, and a raw egg yolk in the center. Mixing the ingredients together and tearing off pieces of the crust to dip into the rich, cheesy center is an essential part of the experience. Another great choice is the Imeruli Khachapuri, a classic round cheese pie. For a lighter, yet equally satisfying option, try the Mkhali Trio, a popular appetizer of vegetable pâtés made from pumpkin, spinach, and beet greens with walnuts.
For a main course, the Lobio with Mint, a traditional red kidney bean dish served in a clay pot with cornbread, is a hearty and flavorful vegetarian staple. Another excellent choice is the Cauliflower with Walnut Sauce, which is both elegant and packed with flavor. The Mushroom Ojaxuri, a pan-fried potato and mushroom dish, is another comforting and delicious option that is a must-try.
Finally, be sure to save room for dessert. While not a vegetarian item, the complimentary chocolate pudding is a special touch mentioned by a customer. The Honey Cake is also a highly recommended choice, as are other baked goods. Pair your meal with one of their select Georgian wines or a perfectly brewed coffee to complete the experience. In essence, Ubani offers a vibrant, delicious, and unique culinary journey that will leave you both full and fulfilled.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1You cannot go wrong with Georgian food.Really good mashed potatoes that actually tasted like real potatoes, not instant ones. The beef was tender and the portion was goodGood amount of ribs, simple but reliable!Eggplants took the cake, excellent choice as an appetizer, and their bread was a standout!Attentive service, fast and friendly.
July 06 · Ann SuárezMy friend and I wanted to try something new, and this Georgian restaurant didn’t disappoint. The staff was really friendly, and the food was delicious. The Adjaruli khachapuri (the boat bread with cheese, butter, and an egg yolk in the center) came out warm and cheesy. You’re supposed to mix it all together and hand-tear off pieces of the crust to dip. It’s rich, comforting, and best enjoyed while it’s still warm before the flavors change. I also had the shrimp with garlic sauce, which I also highly recommend.
June 20 · L YUbani is FANTASTIC. This tiny restaurant more than makes up for its size with incredible authentic Georgian food. Favorites of mine include the cheezy bread appetizer, the slow cooked beef over mashed potatoes with cranberries, sparkling Georgian lemonade, and honey cake. While I cannot pronounce most of the menu items, I can confidently say everything I’ve had here is excellent. I recommend making a reservation due to the limited seating that fills up quickly. One thing to note is that the service is definitely slower than you might expect from a NYC restaurant, but the servers were polite and responsive to being waved over whenever I needed anything.
August 12 · Tyler NewhouseGreat delicious food. The Khachapuri was as good as expected. The Pavlova was amazing (more fruits would make it even better). The environment feels very chic, but staff was friendly and made me and my friend comfortable on top of giving us some nice suggestions. Definitely a must visit.
April 21 · Rodrigo PessoaI went to try this restaurant since it’s often called the best Georgian spot in Manhattan. Honestly? The khinkali were fantastic, and the khachapuri hit the spot—but the kupaty were a bit dry, and one of the waitresses seemed less than welcoming. Cocktails were just okay. Overall, it was good, but I wouldn’t say I’m blown away.
