In the celebrated culinary landscape of Flushing, New York, where every street corner offers a taste of regional China, Xian Noodle House holds a special place. This dedicated Chinese noodle restaurant brings the distinctive, bold flavors of Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi province, right to the heart of Queens. For local New Yorkers craving authentic Northern Chinese comfort food, Xian Noodle House is a must-visit, specializing in traditional, labor-intensive dishes that are both deeply satisfying and rich in culinary history.
The foundation of the restaurant's quality lies in its noodles. Patrons can often enjoy the mesmerizing spectacle of the chefs hand-pulling the noodles, a technique that creates superior texture, chew, and consistency—a crucial factor for any true connoisseur. This dedication extends to the entire menu, which features an incredible array of noodle styles, from wide, rustic Gun Gun Noodles to delicate Sliced Noodle Stews and refreshing Cold Skin Noodles.
Beyond the diverse noodle selection, Xian Noodle House is famous for delivering specialty Xi'an street food staples rarely found elsewhere in NYC, notably the unique Paomo (hand-torn bread in savory lamb soup) and the beloved Chinese burger, Roujiamo. The overall consensus among regulars is one of consistent high quality, generous portion sizes, and flavor profiles that are both complex and authentic. As one regular notes, the portions are so substantial that they often require "two sittings to finish one bowl," offering fantastic value for the local New York diner.

Choosing Xian Noodle House means securing a flavorful and authentic culinary journey into the heart of Shaanxi province, a region often underrepresented in the New York Chinese food scene. For local New Yorkers, this restaurant offers a rare combination of expertly crafted food, unique regional dishes, and phenomenal value.
The absolute must-try dish is the Xian Lamb Paomo. Patrons consistently highlight this dish for its tender lamb and the rich, intensely flavorful broth. The Paomo, which consists of hand-torn pieces of unleavened bread soaked into the soup, provides a unique, comforting texture that absorbs all the savory liquid, making it a truly authentic Xi'an experience. Customers love this dish so much they "even wish they would offer the lamb soup on its own," speaking volumes about the quality of the broth. Pair this with the Xian Stir-Fried Paomo for a spicy, dryer version of the same unique ingredient.
For noodle purists, the handmade aspect is the greatest draw. Starting with the simple, rustic Oil-Splashed Noodles allows you to appreciate the superior texture of the freshly made noodles, tossed simply in oil, chili, and aromatics. For a more complex dish, the Four-In-One Mixed Noodles are highly recommended. These provide a bowl that is "both refreshing and full of flavor," combining various toppings like the delicious tomato and egg mix for a rich, satisfying main course. The sheer size of these dishes—which one customer noted requires two sittings to finish—makes them an excellent value choice for any New York budget.
Finally, no visit to a Xi'an restaurant is complete without sampling the Roujiamo. Choose the classic Braised Pork Roujiamo or the intensely savory Cumin Lamb Roujiamo—these are the authentic Chinese "burgers," featuring seasoned meat stuffed into a crispy, baked baiji biscuit. These are the perfect portable street food item, making them an ideal takeout complement to the main noodle or Paomo dishes. With a consistently great experience noted by regulars and a menu that is both deep and highly specialized, Xian Noodle House is the definitive Flushing destination for authentic, high-value Xi'an cuisine.

Xian Noodle House Reviews
I have tried this place many times and it’s always been great. My favorite is the paomo. The tender lamb and the rich, flavorful broth go perfectly together. I even wish they would offer the lamb soup on its own. The “four in one” noodles are also really tasty, with the tomato and other toppings making a bowl that is both refreshing and full of flavor. The portions are generous too. I usually need two sittings to finish one bowl. I also love the biangbiang noodles, and it is fun watching them hand pull the noodles right in front of you
August 17 · Sixi MaMy girlfriend and I love ordering A5, A7 or G1! Not sure why their rating got tanked but here to do some justice. I regularly eat at that food court and this place is by far my favorite right now.
August 16 · Sammy W.I ordered a noodle, but is very salty, could not eat it. I also bought some little round bread, but they were not cooked well when I had breakfast the next morning. Guess Really had bad cook there. Look at those dish and food pictures they put on the wall seem very attractive, but bad quality.
August 08 · Nathan ZhangVery yummy noodles.
August 12 · Matthew ChinEvery time I come here, they will confidently serve the wrong dishes. Last time I ordered the dry mixed noodle soup, this time I just wanted the ordinary whistle noodles, without any special requirements, and they made it into wide noodles for me. When I went to find the waiter, he confidently told me that he had asked me before. This kind of service should go bankrupt soon🙏🙏
