YUBU SoHo Introduce
YUBU SoHo is a distinctive and innovative Korean restaurant located in the vibrant and trendy neighborhood of SoHo. Setting itself apart from traditional dining spots, YUBU specializes in a modern and artful take on "yubu," which are fried tofu skin pockets filled with seasoned rice and a variety of delicious toppings. This concept provides a fresh, healthy, and convenient way to enjoy classic Korean flavors. The restaurant is not only a go-to for its signature yubu but also offers an array of other popular Korean dishes like Doshirak (Korean lunch boxes) and Bibimbap, alongside a curated selection of specialty drinks and coffees.
The atmosphere at YUBU SoHo is a blend of casual and cozy, making it an ideal spot for a quick bite or a relaxed meal. It’s an Asian-owned business that has successfully brought a taste of traditional Korean comfort food to the bustling streets of New York City, all while infusing it with a modern, fast-casual sensibility. The a la carte yubu options allow for a highly customizable and exploratory dining experience, encouraging customers to mix and match flavors to create their perfect meal.
YUBU SoHo is situated at 46 Grand St, New York, NY 10013, USA. This address places it in a prime location in SoHo, a neighborhood known for its high-end boutiques, art galleries, and diverse culinary scene. Its spot on Grand Street makes it easily accessible for anyone exploring the area, whether they are tourists, college students, or local professionals. The restaurant is a convenient walk from major subway lines and is a great stop while on a shopping trip or a day of sightseeing.
The establishment is designed with a "cross between a fast food joint and a regular restaurant," providing a comfortable space for dine-in. One of its key accessibility features is a wheelchair-accessible entrance, which ensures that it is welcoming to a wide range of customers. While some have noted that the interior is simple and functional rather than overtly charming, its bright and clean space offers a comfortable and relaxed environment to enjoy a meal. The location's foot traffic and visibility make it a noticeable and popular spot for those in the downtown area.
YUBU SoHo offers a variety of service options to fit the busy lifestyle of New Yorkers, ensuring a convenient experience for everyone.
Dine-in: The restaurant provides a casual and cozy setting with seating for those who wish to enjoy their meal on-site. The counter service allows for a quick ordering process, and the space is well-suited for solo diners and small groups.
Takeout: Given the nature of its core offerings, takeout is an excellent and popular service. The yubu and other items are perfect for a quick, portable meal that can be enjoyed at home, at work, or on the go.
Delivery and No-Contact Delivery: For ultimate convenience, YUBU SoHo provides delivery services. With the option for no-contact delivery, customers can enjoy their food safely and comfortably from their location of choice, making it a reliable option for a last-minute lunch or a dinner at home.
Catering: The menu's variety and the customizable nature of the yubu boxes make it a great choice for catering. Whether for a business lunch or a private event, YUBU can provide a unique and healthy spread of Korean flavors.
YUBU SoHo stands out for several unique features that make it a go-to destination for many in the city.
Unique and Customizable Menu: The star of the show is the "yubu," a Korean-style inari sushi. Unlike traditional sushi, these fried tofu pockets are stuffed with seasoned rice and topped with a wide range of ingredients. The menu allows for full customization, where you can choose individual yubu pieces with toppings like Beef Bulgogi, Spicy Chicken, Torched Salmon, or a variety of vegetarian options like Mushroom Bulgogi Flavor. This a la carte approach encourages diners to create a personalized meal. The restaurant also offers combination boxes like the Box of 8, which allows you to sample a variety of flavors.
Healthy and Vegetarian Options: YUBU is committed to offering healthy food options. The yubu pockets themselves are a lighter, more filling alternative to traditional fast food. The menu includes a variety of vegetarian options, such as the Avocado and Spicy Mushroom yubu, making it a great choice for plant-based diners.
Great Tea and Coffee Selection: Beyond the food, the cafe aspect of YUBU is a significant highlight. The restaurant boasts a great tea selection, including unique Korean teas like Yuja Tea and Maesil Tea, as well as classic English Breakfast and Earl Grey. The coffee menu is also extensive, featuring everything from classic Americanos and Lattes to specialty drinks like the Iced Dalgona Coffee Latte, a popular Korean-inspired beverage.
Generous and Filling Portions: Despite their bite-sized appearance, customers consistently note that the yubu pieces are "deceptively filling." Many reviews mention that a box of 3 to 5 yubu is enough for a complete meal, providing excellent value for the price. The Doshirak (Korean Lunch Box) and Bibimbap are also praised for their substantial and satisfying portions.
Friendly Service: While some have described the counter staff as cool, reviews consistently highlight their politeness, patience, and informativeness. This commitment to good customer service ensures a pleasant ordering experience, even for those new to the unique menu items.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This was my second time here. Food is always prepared quickly, and though the fella at the counter could be cold, he was super informative and patient when I asked questions. The restaurant seems like a cross between a fast food joint and a regular restaurant with service (to be sure, there’s no table service at Yubu); it doesn’t have much charm and is uninviting in general, but we’ve been able to enjoy our food comfortably. This stuff is better than sushi imo. More flavors and definitely more filling. I love the beef and spicy chicken! Go and enjoy!
August 03 · Stephen BrunoI had the beef, crab, flamed salmon and let me tell you, it was so good and tasty! Cool, cute and simple interior with good customer service. Love this spot
August 19 · Bridget OrtegaOrdered the salmon, crab, and pork. All were so delicious and fresh! Service was friendly and plenty of seating inside. Highly recommend ordering 3 for a filling snack or more for lunch
August 17 · Tiffany ZhengThe food is good! The service is okay, just your normal casual daily small business lunch spot type of service, aka run by one guy at the counter who barely has time to pay more attention which is fine. The only thing is the no restroom thing. In a city that public restrooms are rare, a restaurant should at least offer that to their customers.
January 30 · Shako LiuFoodI would definitely return for the food. It is so good with so many toppings and I randomly find myself craving it and thinking about it. I had the spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and avocado rolls and they were all so flavorful and yummy. I would recommend it. I had never been to Yubu before and I loved it.DrinksI had a blueberry matcha latte but honestly it was disappointing. There was barely any matcha and the blueberry syrup was way too strong. My lips and tongue even turned black. It was super sweet with mostly milk taste and zero matcha flavor. I would not return for the drinks but definitely for the food.
