Attaboy Introduce
Welcome to the heart of New York City's vibrant cocktail scene. Amidst the bustling streets and endless options, some places stand out not just for what they serve, but for the entire experience they offer. Attaboy, located in the dynamic Lower East Side, is one such place. More than just a bar, it’s a destination that has redefined the art of the cocktail, offering a truly personal and memorable evening for locals and visitors alike. This guide is crafted to help you understand what makes Attaboy a legendary spot, from its unique approach to drinks to its celebrated atmosphere. Whether you’re a cocktail connoisseur or simply looking for a new place to unwind, Attaboy promises an experience that goes beyond the ordinary.
The concept of a "speakeasy" is not new to New York, but Attaboy perfects it with an air of exclusivity that feels welcoming rather than pretentious. Housed in a former tailor shop on Eldridge Street, it carries a sense of history and intimacy. The absence of a visible sign and the subtle entrance adds to the allure, creating a sense of discovery for first-time visitors. Its reputation precedes it, often resulting in a wait to get in, which only builds anticipation. This wait is a testament to the quality and unique experience that awaits inside. Attaboy is also a proud women-owned establishment, contributing to the diverse and inclusive business landscape of New York City. Its reputation is built on word of mouth and the consistently excellent service and creations from its expert bartenders. This is a place for those who appreciate the craft, the quiet conversation, and a drink made just for them.
Attaboy is a quintessential Lower East Side gem, nestled at 134 Eldridge St, New York, NY 10002. This neighborhood is known for its rich history, vibrant street art, and eclectic mix of shops and eateries. While there is no dedicated parking lot, street parking is available, though it is paid and can be challenging to find. Public transportation is highly recommended. The bar is easily accessible by several subway lines, including the F, M, J, and Z trains, with stations within a short walking distance. This makes it a convenient and stress-free option for a night out, allowing you to fully enjoy the experience without worrying about driving. The location also makes it an ideal starting or ending point for an evening exploring the area's other attractions.
The accessibility extends beyond transportation. The discreet entrance and welcoming staff make it a comfortable and accessible spot for all. However, it's worth noting that due to its intimate size and high demand, there is almost always a wait. Attaboy does not take reservations, so guests are encouraged to arrive early, even before opening time, especially on weekends. This queuing process is part of the experience, often bringing together a friendly crowd of people who are all in anticipation of the night ahead. This unique entry process, which a friendly neighboring bar occasionally assists with, adds to the communal and considerate atmosphere among patrons.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It was my first time visiting a speakeasy, and Attaboy gave me a pretty great experience. Although we had to wait nearly two hours since they don’t take reservations, it was worth it. The experience is fun and unique — there’s no menu, so you can describe your drink using any words, and the bartender always surprises you with something amazing. There’s no dress code. Each drink we ordered this time was $23. No food is served here, so make sure to eat before you come!
August 15 · Jo aisenWe love Attaboy! We'd been here once before and decided to bring my boyfriend's mom. This place does not take reservations and we knew that, so we showed up outside the almost hidden entrance door an hour before opening.Unfortunately, it started pouring down rain 15 minutes before Attaboy opened their door. The staff knew the rain was coming and offered the first few of us umbrellas which was wonderful. However, the umbrellas didn't do anybody any good because it rained so hard. The bar next to Attaboy let us in there to wait until Attaboy opened. I think that bar was called Good Guys and it was a cool place too! All the staff was wonderful at both places. We were worried about who Attaboy was going to let in since we weren't in line anymore, but all the guests waiting in line were accommodating and honest to who was where in line so we got in when they opened. There is no cocktail menu - you tell the bartenders what you like or are in the mood for and they make you a drink! Every drink we've had here was unique and fit to our liking. Your table time is 90 minutes but it's a good amount of time. We love it here!
June 23 · Kaytlyn ChristnerWhat a really cool and unique spot. I don't think they serve food here and we visited purely for "beverages" and had a delightful experience. Our bartender who felt more like a friend was Steven. I'm a bourbon fan and after requesting an Old Fashion I realized Steven had much more to offer me so I turned it over to his hands and he made me a "Base Camp", a "Sherpa" and then finally a *Closing Argument" all of which each one was better than the previous. We were initially greeted and seated by a young man named Roy who stopped by our table from time to.time. I'm telling you that I would go way out of the way again to revisit this place based on this one experience. It's an amazingly small and narrow space with (see photo) even more narrow and tight restrooms. All adding to the overall experience. I loved it and WILL try to return.
April 23 · Scott HarmBest cocktails in New York City. Controversial? Maybe. But I’ll stand by it.From the nondescript door to the intimate, hidden vibe, Attaboy feels like stepping into a different world. The space is cozy, low-lit, and beautifully curated without trying too hard. Whoever’s managing the flow at the door — owner or manager — deserves a shoutout. They keep things moving without killing the vibe, and the result is a space that never feels overcrowded or chaotic. And then… the cocktails. Chris behind the bar is the Da Vinci of drinks — tell him your mood and flavor preference and he’ll absolutely nail it. No menu, just trust.Their take on the Undertaker is a must. Spirit-forward, complex, layered — a full-on flavor experience that deserves an award. The Fort Washington? Smoky, crisp, like a campfire in the New Jersey woods — one of the most unique drinks I’ve ever had.If you’re into cocktails, go out of your way to come here. Even if there’s a wait, it’s worth it — and their sister bar next door is amazing too, so you’re covered either way.A true gem. Can’t recommend it enough.
July 27 · John AllieFamed nyc cocktail bar, defenitly worth the accolades. I love the no menu style. I’ve been here many many years ago. And have not been able to get in many times 😝, but got super lucky on my laststop in New York.Had some amazing classic style cocktails that were perfectly balanced, and sometimesYou get something you didn’t even know you wanted. All of the drinks we had were perfect, the tiki drink was honestly a dead ringer for a Frankie’s (Vegas) cocktail, which is a great think except it’s twice the price 😆. If you can’t get to Vegas go for it though it’s delicious.I would come back again and again, just make sure to get here early. We had to stand which I would do again because you should always feel honored to get in but some people may not enjoy that. We did get a seat after our first cocktail though!Love you guys, keep doing what you’re doing, thanks for the penecillin! (Didn’t get it this time but it’s probably my favorite cocktail!)
