BIXI Introduce
In the vibrant and diverse culinary landscape of New York City, finding a restaurant that combines exceptional food, a welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service is a true delight. We are thrilled to introduce you to BIXI, an Asian restaurant that has been making a name for itself on Frederick Douglass Boulevard. This article is your guide to everything you need to know about this local gem, from its charming ambiance to its standout dishes and convenient location. BIXI offers a unique dining experience that caters to a variety of occasions, whether you're planning a romantic date night, a casual dinner with friends, or simply looking to explore new flavors in the city.
New York's dining scene is constantly evolving, and BIXI stands out by offering a cozy and inviting space that feels both intimate and lively. The restaurant's decor is thoughtfully curated, creating a "cute" and comfortable environment that encourages you to relax and enjoy your meal. As you step inside, you are greeted by a bar area at the front, perfect for grabbing a drink before your table is ready. The main dining room is complemented by additional seating in the back, ensuring there's plenty of space to accommodate guests. This well-designed layout contributes to the overall pleasant dining experience, making it a place you’ll want to revisit.
A great meal is not just about the food; it's also about the service. BIXI has received high praise for its staff, with customers describing the service as "amazing" and "quick." Servers are often noted for being "great and friendly," which adds a personal touch to the dining experience. This commitment to customer satisfaction is a significant factor in what makes BIXI a popular choice among locals. When you feel welcomed and well-cared for, it elevates the entire evening, turning a simple dinner into a memorable event.
One of the most talked-about features of BIXI is its delicious food. The menu offers a range of Asian-inspired dishes that are both tasty and well-prepared. A particular highlight, as noted by enthusiastic customers, is the lemon sesame chicken. This dish has been described as "very tasty" and "cooked to perfection," with the accompanying rice being so "soft and buttery" that it "literally melted in your mouth with each bite." Such glowing reviews suggest that BIXI has mastered certain signature dishes that are truly worth trying. The food's quality and flavor profile are a key reason for its growing reputation.
In addition to its main menu, BIXI offers a popular happy hour that runs every day from 4-8pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to try some of their appetizers and drinks at a potentially reduced price. While some happy hour items may not have a significant discount, the availability of such a long happy hour period is a great incentive for an early dinner or a casual get-together after work. It’s an accessible way for new customers to sample the menu and for regulars to enjoy their favorites at a more affordable price point.
It is worth noting that while the food is consistently praised, some customers have mentioned that the pricing can be "a bit pricey" for the quantity received. However, the quality of the food often justifies the cost for many patrons. As with any popular restaurant, BIXI aims to provide a premium dining experience, and the cost reflects the quality of ingredients and preparation.
Another point to be aware of, as mentioned in customer feedback, is the gratuity policy. While the menu reportedly states that gratuity is added after 9 pm, some parties have been charged a 20% gratuity earlier. This is a detail to clarify with your server to avoid any confusion. The staff, however, seems willing to accommodate and resolve such issues, indicating a commitment to fairness and customer satisfaction. This transparency is key to building trust with a loyal customer base.
BIXI also serves delicious drinks, which are frequently mentioned in customer reviews. They are described as "delicious" and a perfect complement to the food. The presence of a bar at the entrance makes it easy to enjoy a cocktail or a non-alcoholic beverage before or during your meal. This focus on both food and beverages ensures a complete and enjoyable dining experience.

BIXI Reviews
Went here for the first time with my family on Sunday, August 17th. We originally had a reservation for 4:30 and they give you a 15 minute grace period. I called to left them know we would be later than that and they were accommodating and said they will still be able to seat us. We were a table of 4 and arrived at 5pm.The vibe is cozy and the decor is cute. I would come back for a date night. The bar is in the front when you enter and then there’s the dining room. There’s also additional seating in the back and there’s only one bathroom. We ordered our appetizers from their happy hour menu; they have happy hour everyday from 4-8pm. However, some items aren’t discounted that much- like the 3 pc wings from HH are $9 but regular price is $10. The sweet chili wings were good, but I do think the menu is a bit pricey especially for the quantity that you get.The highlight of the meal was the lemon sesame chicken. It was very tasty and cooked to perfection. The rice was so soft and buttery and literally melted in your mouth with each bite. 10/10 definitely would recommend and would get that dish again!ConMy first time here was good. However the only thing I didn’t like was that when we asked for the bill, they had originally charged us a 20% gratuity. BUT, in their menu it states that gratuity is added after 9pm! We were there at 5pm and got the bill around 6:30pm, so we were confused to see that added. It didn’t make sense to us. Our waitress said it was because we were a “large party of 4” but she said she could speak to the manager and get the charge taken off and that’s what she did. I don’t mind being charged gratuity, but if you state that you do it after a certain time, then follow that!
August 24 · Janiqua MorrisCame here for the first time with friends, the atmosphere is so welcoming, service is amazing and quick. Our server was great and friendly! The drinks were delicious and the food was even better.
July 19 · Danielle WilliamsBixi Harlem is hands down one of my favorite spots in the city! The ambiance is stylish yet welcoming, making it perfect for a night out with friends or a cozy date night. The real star of the show, though, is their lychee martini—easily the best in NYC. It’s perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and always made with fresh ingredients. I love to switch it up and get tequila instead of vodka and it’s a hit every time.Beyond the cocktails, the service is always top-tier, and the food menu never disappoints. Alex and JB are my usuals but everyone that works there is great. It feels a home away from home. I always grab a seat at the bar but they have a lovely back room and enclosed front/back patio.Lastly their happy hour can’t be beat! $10 lychee martinis (and tons of other food/drink deals) until 8pm ever day!
February 26 · Tiffany WilderStopped by BIXI for a drink in the afternoon and then ordered from the special menu. Loved everything, the drink, the service, the food AND the bill. Would definitely return.
May 15 · A. M.Come for happy hour, stay for Alex! Service is top notch. Make this your neighborhood bar even if you don’t live in the neighborhood. I got there a bit late and the kitchen was closed, just another excuse to come back!
