Brooklyn Baklava Introduce
Welcome to the heart of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, where the air is scented with rosewater, warm butter, and the irresistible aroma of finely crafted Middle Eastern pastries. For New Yorkers seeking an authentic taste of Lebanese tradition, look no further than Brooklyn Baklava. This neighborhood gem isn't just a bakery; it's a destination for the freshest, crunchiest, and most perfectly balanced baklava in the NYC area, complemented by a selection of delicious savory pies and other delights.
A beloved part of the Brooklyn community, Brooklyn Baklava is celebrated for its dedication to quality and traditional recipes. More than just a dessert stop, this establishment has garnered a reputation for making baklava that is "exceptional in every sense of the word"—specifically, it is praised for being intentionally "not cloyingly sweet or sticky," a common issue with other regional versions. Instead, patrons rave about the "right amount of crispy pastry, richness and a touch of syrup at the bottom," with "flavors that are bold yet delicate and a slightly floral aftertaste." It's this commitment to masterful, balanced flavor that has earned Brooklyn Baklava a loyal following, with customers happily making the trek from other boroughs just for a taste.
The bakery’s roots are steeped in history and family tradition. While they are a staple in the modern Bay Ridge food scene, their products carry the weight of generations of culinary expertise, offering a profound taste of Middle Eastern heritage right here in New York. Identifying as a woman-owned business, Brooklyn Baklava contributes to the vibrant, diverse tapestry of Brooklyn’s local economy and is committed to providing a welcoming, friendly atmosphere for all, including being proudly LGBTQ+ friendly. When you step inside, you are not just a customer; you are a welcomed guest about to indulge in a deeply satisfying culinary experience.
The menu is a testament to the richness of Levantine cuisine, carefully curated to showcase the very best in both sweet and savory treats. While the baklava is the main event, the offering of fresh, savory pies provides a wonderful contrast that makes this a perfect stop for any time of day.

What is Worth Choosing Brooklyn Baklava
For New Yorkers, choosing Brooklyn Baklava is choosing a quality of taste and authenticity that is hard to match anywhere else in the metropolitan area. The bakery’s reputation is built on a simple yet profound premise: traditional, high-quality Lebanese sweets and savories made with genuine care.
What makes it truly worth a visit—even a long trek from Manhattan or other boroughs—is the distinct, perfected flavor profile of their signature baklava. It is not just sweet; it is exquisitely balanced. Customers repeatedly highlight this key difference, emphasizing that the layers of pastry, the richness of the nuts (walnut, pistachio, cashew, almond, hazelnut), and the light touch of syrup are meticulously crafted. This attention to detail results in a dessert that is flaky and crunchy, yet not sticky or heavy, making it an incredibly satisfying treat.
Beyond the exceptional sweets, the entire experience is warm and inviting. As a woman-owned business that openly welcomes the LGBTQ+ community, Brooklyn Baklava stands as a pillar of hospitality and inclusion in Bay Ridge. The staff is known for being "so kind, professional, honest, and accommodating," often offering a free sample upon arrival—a friendly gesture that turns a quick visit into a delightful, memorable interaction. Whether you are craving the savory comfort of a Flavorful Lamb Pie for lunch, an afternoon pick-me-up of coffee and an Almond Baklava, or need to cater a large event with a magnificent platter of Assorted Mix Baklava, this bakery is uniquely equipped to deliver. It is a true Brooklyn institution, offering a taste of the Middle East that is simply the "standard bearer" for excellence. Make the trip; your sweet tooth—and your next party guests—will thank you for it.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I co-found a community pop up and for our last event the theme was natty wines/high Tea. We wanted to keep the food options ethnic and I stumbled upon Brooklyn Baklava. A quick browse of the menu and a 2 minute phone call was all I need. Mohammed was so kind, professional, honest and accommodating. Talking to him made me feel like I’ve known him for a good while already- such a familiar spirit. We were swamped with the event so my co-founder trekked out to Bay Ridge to pick up our order and bought an additional assortment of sweets. The baklava are EXCEPTIONAL in every sense of the word. Full stop. They are not cloyingly sweet or sticky, just the right amount of crispy pastry, richness and a touch of syrup at the bottom, the flavors are bold yet delicate and there a slightly floral aftertaste. Magnificent craft. I can’t even fully explain it.Our guest ran us down all night about the baklava AND the Katafi. They were gone in about 2 minutes after we set the desserts out. I was sooooooo happy and just astounded.Mohammed has FOREVER clients in us and I encourage anyone on the fence to do themselves a favor and just go and change your life.
September 29 · Shamyra K.I recently had the pleasure of visiting a fantastic baklava shop, and I have to say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked down the street, I was drawn in by the incredible smell of freshly baked treats wafting through the air – it was impossible not to stop in. The owner was incredibly welcoming, and even offered us a sample, which were absolutely delicious and a great touch. The baklava itself was exceptional. The crunch was perfect, not overly sweet or drenched in syrup like other places I’ve tried. It had the right balance of flavors, with an amazing texture. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into crafting each piece.Honestly, whenever I crave baklava, I’ll make the trek all the way from the city to this spot – it’s worth every step. I’ll be coming back for sure!
March 06 · P LI ordered 4 dozen assorted baklava for a family member’s memorial repass. Muhammad was very personable and made everything to offer. Everyone commented on how fresh and delicious it was.
August 06 · Stephen AdubatoBaklava, and other middle eastern sweets and groceries. Very friendly place that feels family run with a good selection of Baklava styles that you can be in giant mixed variety amounts to just four or so in a small pack. Was very excited that they had fresh knafe too!
April 30 · FelixMost delicious, fresh and crunchy Baklava in NYC area. They serve other sweets as well but I’ve only tried their baklava. They have walnut, pistachio, hazelnut, cashew flavors. You can create a box of mixed flavors. Super nice and friendly staff.
