May 20 · Paul AmpununWe’d been stalking their Instagram and showed up the moment they posted that white asparagus was finally in season. Just right by the time we wanted to celebrate the semester end. The asparagus was fresh and tender, and the hollandaise sauce was rich, silky, and delicious, absolutely obsessed. We also shared the sausage platter — a generous serving of Berne sausage, Krainer, Emmentaler sausage, and Frankfurter. Everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. We couldn’t finish it all and happy we could have them again the next day lunch. The service was wonderful, too. One friendly staff member kept checking in on us even though she wasn’t our server, which made the experience feel even more personal. We love this place and will definitely come back! From the outside, it looks like another spot in a busy bar area, but inside it feels cozy, warm, with class.
May 05 · Jazz ChomboonI feel very strongly about Cafe Katja. They have consistently served authentic home cooked Austrian meals that are fresh, affordable, nutritious, and satisfying since they opened, which is when my mother & I first received their service. Their atmosphere appears as a warm, rich, and soft red color that calms a person. Their type of lighting is associated with an intimate, romantic, and passionate candlelight. The atmosphere SOUND is one I have taken time to record several times for future audible memories because it is the familiar sound of a loaded tavern from the Middle Ages with people talking & laughing. If you close your eyes there you may hear their non-existent fireplace popping. The waiting staff are friends who restore my respect for their profession. The food demonstrates concern for your health by presenting many vegetable options while simultaneously pouring on what tastes like copious portions of butter, cream and other comforting flavors that operate like a lullaby to a newborn baby. I cannot describe the heavenly experience I get from the food, but my wife will tell you how my eyes close before I tell her to take a moment of silence after my first bite. On top of all that, look at the prices yourself. If you make your own analysis of the pricing, you’ll find it difficult to find a handful of places that meet this quality at this price point, especially when receiving their service ego of an average ordinary human-oriented place. I could go on and on about Café Katja, but I’ve already written enough. Go explore this restaurant on your own. You will be the better for it!
September 10 · JeffreyGreat food. Fresh. Organic. We had 6 people and the service was delightful along with great food. We stayed like 2 hours. Portions are quite large.
July 18 · Leah SukiAn Austrian-inspired food serving restaurant. Food is ok and as American, you gonna be pleasantly surprised by the dishes. As European, you won't be that amazed but it's still good. And yes, their Wiener Schnitzel is not made from veal. It's from pork. And yes, they should call it 'Schnitzel Wiener Art' and everyone will understand it.
