★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Walking into Bodega Calle Series 54 instantly transported me back to my hometown of Moca in the Dominican Republic. Every product on the shelves is imported straight from the DR, and the atmosphere has that warm, familiar vibe that made me feel right at home. One of the highlights is the small cafeteria tucked inside the store—serving the same delicious food I enjoy whenever I visit my beautiful hometown. I had a perfectly made ham & cheese tostada, and to top it off, I treated myself to a refreshing helado BON—an absolute classic! While the waiting area for food is a bit tight, and service could be better, it can get crowded, it’s totally worth it for the authentic flavors and experience. Finding this hidden gem in the heart of the Bronx was such a beautiful surprise. I’ll definitely be coming back again!
April 22 · Anais G.So happy we found this gem especially when we are missing the Island and all of its delicious treats. It has the nostalgic feel of the colmados in RD with the warm welcoming staff. We were so excited to find Bon helado we had to buy three even if they cost us a total of $30 it was worth it. I just wish they had the flavor Pastel de cumpleaños flavor y coco. And I always check to see if they have the Lays queso blanco chips but they still haven’t brought those in. Hopefully one day it will be in stock, I will continue to check and shop here for other goodies till then.
June 06 · Gypsy Den NYCFood is great. I really recommend the food here. The food is always fresh and made with love. My kids love everything i have ordered from here. This time i ordered the Completo and it was so satisfying.
June 05 · Raquel RicardoDisappointed but Still Drawn In by the Homeland GoodiesHonestly, coming to this place is a mix of emotions. It’s nice to find a variety of products and goodies from the Homeland that you don’t usually see in regular stores in the U.S. That’s probably the biggest draw. You walk in and instantly spot those familiar items that bring comfort and nostalgia. But here’s the problem: the prices are outrageous. Even for products I know I can get in places like Washington Heights, the markup here is excessive. For example, I was excited to get a coconut dulce, but not only was it overpriced, the temperature wasn’t right. When I opened it, it had gone bad, it wasn’t even edible. That was really disappointing. On top of that, the customer service needs serious improvement. The staff, especially the ladies working there, were rude and dismissive. Their attitude makes the shopping experience unpleasant, and the only reason you stay is because you’re hoping to grab those hard-to-find goodies. In my opinion, if you need specific items like medicine or rare treats from back home, it might be worth a quick visit. But for everyday things like salami, cookies, or pantry staples, it’s not worth the inflated prices or the bad attitude. Definitely not a go-to spot for regular shopping.
July 25 · Vicky Terry-RijoThe WORST SERVICE I EVER RECIEVED IN MY LIFE . All THEY DO IS PLAY & JOKE IN THERE . ORDERED A BACON EGG & Cheese, WAITED 20mins FOR THEM TO TELL ME THEY DUDNT START IT . Gave me a recipe for the money I spent & told me sorry . After waiting 20mins . THIS PLACE IS A JOKE . Bunch of adult playing like kids
