★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I rarely give 5 stars but this place gets 5 stars! The food is amazing! The flavors are so subtle but rich! The yams have an amazing rich taste but so subtle. The black eyed peas are so delicious but such a subtle seasoning. My only complaint is that this place is pretty much take out only. No good seating here.
August 02 · O V HHeard about this place for years and finally got a chance to try it. It was worth the long wait, I will not wait as long to return. This fried chicken might not be what you're used to, but the flavor is incredible. Real dark meat that it crisp and not overly crunchy. That's why people love it! Cornbread is equally old school, not some fluffy stuff. Collards were excellent- meaty tasting and so tender, even the stems were soft to the tooth. The staff is friendly, professional and also entertaining. Will return soon!
August 18 · Phillip KautzCharles fried chicken!!! This place rocks. Top 10 chicken in NYC easy on anyone listBut to be completely honest I just ordered in and I really wouldn’t recommend it if you’re 20 blocks away it definitely didn’t hit the same. I have had this many times and it’s definitely one of the best fried chickens in the city.I’m not sure if it was cuz it’s close to closing time or just the delivery I’ll have to try and order it again soon to see definitely going to do it earlier to see if it’s better.Got the white rice (I definitely would pass on this) should have done the greensThe pees was okThe Mac and cheese always hitThe corn bread was a bit dry but again I’m guessing it’s because of the time. It’s late so maybe it sat for a bit normally it’s top tear.I can’t blame them for the delivery especially since I’ve had it in person so many times and it was always consistentI definitely recommend this place definitely visit it’s many locations and you won’t be disappointedOrdering or delivery I can’t promise anything on that but if you go u will enjoy it.IG imbroke_robThanks again for following me hope you enjoy the reviews
May 01 · ImBroke RobMight have been an off day?Tried the classic 2 piece fried chicken, with green beans as a side, and corn bread, to go. Also had the limeade. The fried chicken skin texture was great, crispy. The meat though was quite dry, not tender or moist.Limeade tasted ok.
August 04 · Leon LinVery friendly service and impeccable food. The chicken was sooo juicy and seasoned well. Would definitely recommend picking up some Mac and cheese too!!
