★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1One of my favorite restaurants in Nutley, Cowan’s consistently delivers high quality food, great cocktails, and friendly service. I went for lunch, sat outside, and brought my doggie. The chef created a a deliciously savory potato and aioli starter that alternates between fries or chips. Highly recommend. The chef prepared my book at a medium and I really enjoyed the candied bacon. I would order again.
August 17 · Dave ZatorskiThis was a small Cute bar type of location vintage inspired and clean. The server was excellent she was very helpful and nice she recommended certain foods on the menu by the way it is a small menu I don't recommend big parties for this location. They also have happy hour which is a plus I did feel my drink was very tiny for the happy hour price. The drinks were not good we had margaritas overly tart you could not taste any part of a margarita. I highly recommend the food and if you are looking to have a quiet night go here it was quite empty and no music. The service and food with maybe their own dressings definitely delicious! It is on the pricey side. I just don't see me going back not that it was terrible just would prefer a place with some Ambience and better drinks for what your paying.
September 02 · L CalleCohen’s Public is such a cool and modern spot – definitely has that trendy, edgy vibe. The mixologists are fantastic, and the drinks are always on point. The food is more of an American style, lots of fried options, and it’s good if you’re in the mood for that. The atmosphere is great, and I love how the décor changes with the seasons – whether it’s Halloween or Christmas, it always looks amazing inside. I often stop by with friends for a drink, and it’s always a fun experience. Highly recommend!
September 16 · Kasia MarnikSunday brunch was fantastic! Food was delicious; service was lovely and fast; atmosphere is super fun.
July 06 · Michele RheeWe arrived, for what we thought would be an earlier dinner, at 430p. We were told there were only counter seats left. There were a few high tops that were not occupied for the duration of our stay of about an hour, but we were directed to the window counter. There is no service at the window so we waited for drinks at the bar. However, the bar was practically full so there really wasn’t an area to place drink orders. After a bit we placed an order for two of the Holiday drinks. It was not plausible to attempt to order any food without service so we finished our drinks and left. The drinks were tasty and in themed glasses. We had wanted to try this place for some time but oddly the experience was not enjoyable. Tables remained opened and no options to place orders for food, or even to get a second drink, just wasn’t working. The place was decorated in lovely Christmas decor and extremely festive. Too bad the service was not able to match the decorations! Cheers!
December 19 · Jim LyonsWe loved the pop up at Cowans. The choices were great. The staff was friendly. We had a very nice time. The drinks were fun. Be careful that you check for sweetness level as they can be quite sweet!!
