For a local New Yorker or a visitor to the Sleepy Hollow area, Croqueteria offers a truly distinct and worthwhile culinary experience, particularly given its focus on high-quality, authentic Cuban food. The consensus among satisfied patrons is clear: the two items you must choose are the Cubano Sandwich and a selection of their Croquetas.
The Cubano Sandwich ($14.00) is repeatedly praised for its perfection. It is not merely a sandwich but an authentic recreation, with the bread achieving the ideal flaky, crispy crust and soft interior. The pork, reportedly seasoned and cooked in-house for many hours, ensures a tender, well-flavored filling that elevates the entire dish. This is the Cuban Sandwich that New Yorkers who appreciate authenticity have been searching for, effectively transporting you to the streets of Miami with every bite.
Next, the Croquetas are the heart of the restaurant, offered in traditional varieties like Ham ($2.00) and Chicken ($2.00). However, the unique and addictive specialty croquettes, such as the Spinach & Feta Cheese ($3.00) and the legendary Guava & Cheese Croquetas, are highly recommended. The Guava & Cheese variety, described as a perfect blend of fresh guava and a cheesecake-like cheese filling, offers a sweet and savory experience that customers call "addictive." For those wanting variety, the Croquetas Del Dia (Of The Day, $21.00 for 9 assorted) provides an excellent sampler of their daily creativity.
The fact that this is a Latino-owned and women-owned business further adds to the appeal, supporting a family-run operation that contributes genuinely to the local community's culinary landscape. With comfortable seating options, great coffee, and a menu that spans breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Croqueteria is more than just a quick bite; it's a friendly, engaging destination for comfort food and authentic flavor in the New York region.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 18/3/25 first time here, the GF found this place on G Maps.Croqueteria is a nice family run eatery. We had a nice conversation with them and we really loved the food. We split a Cubano and had several croquettes. 2 ham, 2 chicken and 2 guava & cheese. All were really good. Two small tables inside and a couple of tables outside. We will certainly return for more!
August 04 · dave IOmg! Finally found cubano that is just like what I use to have in Miami. The bread is perfect, flaky crispy crust and soft interior. The pork is well seasoned and made in house. You can taste that the pork has been cooking for many hours. Also, the guava cheese croquettes was addictive. The guava in middle is so fresh and the cheese is like a cheesecake and donut had a baby. I could eat a dozen of those. Also the feta cheese croquette was shockingly good, super flavorful. Will definitely come back!
August 02 · LoniHadn’t been here in a while, but was craving a Cubano and recalled that the sandwiches here were excellent partly because they didn’t feature any cold cuts—all roast pork here. Unfortunately, since my last visit in 2024 the restaurant has since begun using sliced deli ham (in addition to their terrific roast pork) on their Cubanos, so what was once a remarkable sandwich is now just pretty good. Next time I will probably ask them to leave the sliced ham off.
March 23 · Kevin WheelerIt's a must visit. I went last year with my kids to enjoy sleepy hollow fun October activities and we came across this amazing spot and the atmosphere was amazing, staff was really nice, great service. We went twice within the same day and back the following day to take stuff on the go and their cubano sandwich, delicious. Definitely visiting again this year.
September 26 · M. SRIncredible, authentic, and quaint place! I was pleasantly surprised to find that the croquetas weren’t so greasy that the fat seeped onto my fingers or into the napkins. Cuban sandwich is perfectly thin and crispy, not like other Cuban sandwiches that leave you feeling overly stuffed. The only drawback for me was their lack of vegetarian options; the exact day we visited they were out of the only vegetarian sandwich. Pablo is very friendly :)
August 22 · Britt van der PoelWe got a free of the croquettes here, and they were good! We got a pumpkin one for the Halloween season and a ham one. Both were very good and fresh. Cute shop overall, and definitely recommend checking it out. There's not much seating inside though.
