Currito Introduce
For New Jersey residents and travelers flying through Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), finding fresh, flavorful, and customizable dining options is a welcome relief from typical airport fare. Currito, a prominent burrito restaurant and cantina, offers exactly this, specializing in Mexican-inspired cuisine with a global twist, all prepared in a casual and accessible counter-service format. The concept is built around fresh ingredients, allowing guests to build their own burritos, bowls, or salads from a wide variety of quality proteins, grains, and flavorful toppings.
Currito is highly popular for all three major meal times—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—and is frequently noted as an excellent option for solo dining. Its menu is designed to be both hearty and adaptable, with staple offerings that include classic burritos (like the Cantina Burrito and the massive El Grande Burrito), tacos featuring Carnitas, Barbacoa, and Chicken, and fresh salads such as the Cocinero Salad. A notable highlight often praised by patrons is the quality of fresh components, including the highly-rated, garlicky guacamole and flavorful burrito bowls, which offer a healthier, fork-friendly alternative to a traditional wrap.
While the focus is on quick service, Currito elevates the airport experience by also operating as a cantina, offering a selection of beer, cocktails (like Mojito and Caipirinha), and wine alongside its meals. This full-service beverage option transforms a quick-stop burrito joint into a place where travelers can genuinely relax before a flight. However, it's worth noting that customer feedback occasionally points to operational inconsistencies, including reports of slow service during peak times and issues with hospitality, suggesting that the experience can vary depending on the time and staff on duty. Despite these periodic issues, the general consensus values the fresh, flavorful food as a major upgrade for airport dining.
Currito is strategically located within the post-security area of Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), making it a convenient stop for ticketed travelers.

- Fast Service Focus: Despite occasional service reports, the operation is highlighted for its fundamental fast service model, essential for airport dining.
- All-Day Burritos: The availability of breakfast burritos and the Burrito/Burrito Bowl options throughout the day provides a satisfying and hearty meal at any hour.

What makes Currito truly worth choosing is the quality of its Mexican-inspired comfort food. Unlike many chain restaurants, Currito offers bold, chef-driven flavors—evident in fan favorites like the flavorful burrito bowls and the much-praised garlicky guacamole—that genuinely elevate the airport dining experience. The ability to "build your own" meal ensures fresh preparation and customization for specific tastes or dietary needs.
Moreover, the establishment is not just a food counter; it is a full cantina. For solo travelers or groups looking to unwind, the availability of Cocktails, Beer, and Sangria with their meal makes Currito a complete pre-flight destination. This blend of fast, fresh food with full bar offerings is a distinct advantage. While the service experience can sometimes be inconsistent, the core product—fresh burritos, tacos, and bowls—is consistently rated high for airport food. March 13 · Alison RomerIf you're not too broken to put up with plastic forks at a sit down restaurant give it a go. If you're early enough they'll have to make the bloody mary mix and it won't taste like the poison in the United Lounge you could otherwise be in.
June 23 · Maura FurnissThe Curritos at the gates in Terminal A is excellent. Eating a pork burrito it's really good. I did not see it in google maps so I am leaving a review here. They have a bar and nice seating area.
February 28 · Mikee535Comically inept on all levels . An hour before our flight we got in a line ten people deep with a goal of a quick beer and one appetizer. 20 minutes to be seated 20 minutes to be acknowledged by one of the 20 aimless, disinterested staff. At that point we skipped the food - not trusting it would be out in time. Then we finally ordered our two beers. They failed to deliver on that as well. At that point our flight was almost boarding so we just left.If you desire a $13 bud light and roughly an hour wait this place is awesome. Otherwise just stand nearby and enjoy watching every customer get increasingly frustrated. It's kind of amazing.
November 08 · John GephartThoroughly disgusted by my experience! Will never eat there again! Sat down and decided to order to go because my flight was scheduled to depart in 30 mins. Surprisingly the food came sooner than expected so I began to eat. As I was eating I asked a server for a glass of water, he shrugged his shoulders and shortly there after a hostess came and stated you ordered to go you cant sit here. Meanwhile there were approximately 20 open tables and I was sitting in a high top table for one. I stated I only asked for to go out of fear of having to leave hastily for my flight. I followed up on my water request with the same server as before, his name was SAM, and he rudely stated you aren’t one of my tables. I asked to speak to a manager who had nothing to say but sorry, didn’t even offer me a glass of water when done in and take out are the same price. I was treated horribly please boycott this establishment !!!!!
