Dined at Gui during Restaurant Week, and it offered great value for money. The Caesar salad was a standout— creamy dressing, generous shredded cheese, and a Korean twist with dried fish bits that truly elevated the whole salad. The brioche was fluffy and amazing especially with their butter. For a steakhouse, the steak was a bit disappointing: it lacked natural beef flavor and didn’t have the richness we expected. While the sauce added a Korean punch, the meat relied almost entirely on it for flavor. The black and white chocolate cake made for a perfect finish, with a moist, flavorful sponge. Service was friendly and attentive, and the chic, high-end interior added to the overall experience. Open to dining here again but probably with other entrées on my list since the steak wasn’t the standout for me. - Emily Chao

Gui Steakhouse – NYC Times Square Introduce

For New Yorkers and visitors alike, a steakhouse in the heart of the city is more than just a place to eat; it's an institution. But what if you could take the classic American steakhouse experience and infuse it with the bold, sophisticated flavors of modern Korean cuisine? That’s exactly what you’ll find at Gui Steakhouse – NYC Times Square. This isn’t your typical steakhouse; it’s a stylish and innovative fine dining destination that offers a truly unique culinary journey. Helmed by Chef Sungchul Shim, the visionary behind Michelin-starred restaurants Kochi and Mari, Gui elevates the steakhouse concept by weaving traditional Korean condiments and techniques into every dish.

The menu at Gui is a testament to this unique fusion. While you'll find classic steakhouse mainstays like USDA Prime Bone-In Ribeye and Filet Mignon, each plate is prepared with a distinct touch. The steaks are cooked over binchotan charcoal and Josper grill for a smoky flavor, and sauces like Chimichurri and Bordelaise are complemented by Korean-inspired options. The Japanese A5 Wagyu selections, including Striploin and Filet Mignon, offer a luxurious, melt-in-your-mouth experience that connoisseurs will appreciate. Beyond the steaks, the menu features a diverse range of Korean-influenced dishes, from the exquisitely prepared Mari Spicy Tuna "Tartare" to shared plates like the Kimchi Wagyu Fried Rice and Dolsot Bibim Bap.

The atmosphere at Gui is as impressive as the food. With its chic, high-end interior and trendy, yet cozy, vibe, it provides the perfect backdrop for a special night out. The elegant two-story layout includes a ground-floor bar, Bar 92, and the main dining room upstairs, creating a sophisticated and memorable experience. The service is consistently praised by customers for being friendly, attentive, and incredibly fast, a welcome trait for those with pre-show plans. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone or simply treating yourself to an extraordinary meal, Gui Steakhouse offers a fresh and exciting take on fine dining in the heart of the city.
