For busy New Yorkers, tourists exploring Times Square, or anyone looking for a flavorful and satisfying meal without the fuss, ilili Box is a fantastic choice.
The concept behind ilili Box is simple yet effective. It takes the essence of the upscale ilili experience—known for its fresh ingredients and masterful blend of flavors—and translates it into a menu of easily customizable pita wraps and over-rice bowls. This approach makes it a great option for a fast lunch or a casual dinner. The menu is compact, but each item is designed to deliver a powerful punch of flavor. The signature spiced chicken, for instance, is a standout, praised by customers for its delicious taste and quality. As one happy diner shared, the food is "absolutely delicious," and the service is "super fast," making it an ideal destination for those on a tight schedule.
In a city where finding affordable and high-quality food can be a challenge, ilili Box is a welcome find. It's praised for being a "very affordable to eat here in NYC," a sentiment that resonates deeply with both locals and visitors. The clean and comfortable environment within City Kitchen, a major plus on a hot summer day, enhances the experience, offering a pleasant break from the urban heat and noise.
ilili Box is located inside the City Kitchen food hall, which is at 700 8th Ave, New York, NY 10036. This address places it squarely in the Theater District, making it an incredibly convenient stop for anyone heading to a Broadway show, visiting Times Square, or working in the surrounding Midtown area. The food hall itself is a landmark of convenience and variety, housing a collection of vendors under one roof. While the location can be a bit "confusing to get to" for first-timers, as one customer noted, once you find it, you're rewarded with a welcoming, air-conditioned space.
The food hall provides a great atmosphere for solo dining or for groups to gather and choose from various options. While seating is communal, the overall setup is designed for efficiency and comfort. As a takeout-focused business, accessibility is key, and the location offers a wheelchair-accessible entrance. Parking in this part of Manhattan is a challenge, but the area is extremely well-served by public transportation, with numerous subway lines and bus routes just a short walk away.

For anyone in New York City, choosing ilili Box is a smart decision for several key reasons. The primary appeal lies in its combination of quality and convenience. It’s not just a generic takeout spot; it's a taste of the renowned ilili brand, known for its authentic and sophisticated Lebanese flavors, in a fast and affordable format. The menu, while small, is expertly curated, with each item delivering a memorable flavor. The customer who raved about the "lamb bowl" and said it was "really, really good" is a perfect example of how the food's quality transcends the fast-casual setting.
Another major factor is the value proposition. It’s hard to find such high-quality, flavorful food at a price point that is truly "affordable to eat here in NYC." For a quick lunch or dinner, this is a significant advantage. The positive comments about the "friendly staff" and "super fast" service also highlight a customer-centric approach that makes the experience even more pleasant. Even with minor issues like an inattentive staff member, the food quality was so high that it completely overshadowed any small inconvenience.
Furthermore, the presence of specialties like the "Phoenician Fries" adds to the appeal, offering unique and delicious options that you won't find at every other takeout joint. The fresh flavors and unique offerings, such as the Spiced Chicken and Roasted Duck, set it apart from typical grab-and-go fare. When you choose ilili Box, you're not just getting a meal; you're getting a slice of a high-end culinary experience, tailored for the fast-paced life of a New Yorker.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Love the food! The lamb bowl was really, really good. Not the greatest pic but I was hungry. Friendly staff, serviced very quickly. The only issue I had: it was very confusing to get to this place but once you find it, it's really nice! There's was a whole food court here. Very affordable to eat here in NYC, it's very clean place with AC in the 90° weather.
July 29 · Gina RehoseniOkay, I don't know what the bad reviews are about. I got the chicken BLT with a side of fries and holy cow this was absolutely delicious !!!! The service was super fast and the food is great. The only issue I had was the the lady who took our order was sitting on her phone and we had to ask for her attention to order but I understand it may get boring to be stuck there for hours upon hours so I won't let that decrease the review because the food was totally awesome !
August 12 · Nick VitoloHad omelettes already couple times at Ilili Box in the City Kitchen. These guys are awesome, food is very tasty and they’re flexible about dietary restrictions. My son is gluten-free and wheat-free and these guys had a great true gluten-free bread for him. Thanks guys!A great stop for on-the-go eating right off Times Square, 44th n 8 Av.Highly recommended.
February 12 · Arkadi VeeThis place was great! Stopped by after work to grab a bite. Spicy chicken wasn't too spicy just mild, the sumac garlic whip was amazing!
August 15 · K. J.Terrible. Greasy and expensive. Not much more to say. Thought I'd give it a shot for convenience. Next time I'll just walk to 9th Avenue where there's tons of local, good, and affordable olaces.
